Ladies and Gents,

Just been looking on the Steyr site and seen this...

New ( to me certainly) 5 and 10 shot auto indexing..

Anyone know about these bad boys?

Strange. I wouldn't have thought Austrians would release info on unavailable products.. usually far more.... sensible than that

I think the prototypes of these first surfaced 2/3 years ago. So it looks like they'll soon be available.
Hopefully we'll get some prices and availability soon, rest assured they won't be cheap

I certainly hope they find a way to screw cut the barrel's... its the one thing I fault with my STEYR hunter 5A scout.

Pretty good going if thats the only fault when you think about it! My add on adapter doesn't bother me so no complaints at all

I had my last H5 screwcut and it was a little underwhelming in the accuracy stakes, annoying as I did not shoot it before it was cut so never knew whether it was my fault or a bit of a factory let down..

Well noticed!

Looks like the magazine cover hinges backwards to open but still im not sure how the magazine could be inserted without interfering with a scope directly above it.

I think that this may be down to the Austrian firearms law with regards to moderators - but it does make you wonder why they couldn't just thread all their export gear

I will most likely be in the queue when they start appearing ...a Steyr is like a fine wine in my eyes .

Me too, and at least it's a proven action so no need to worry about being first in the queue this time

Not that I know of, I just wish they would make the same guns for half the current price, that would cheer me up
