A friend of mine has a fender that one of the gods of rock and roll used to own, he isn't a very well chap and there's a great story to it. But I'm not going to share it till I get his permission, I'm making another belt for him and when I give it to hi. I'll ask if I can tell and take some pictures of it hopefully he won't say no but till then 'late next week' ok cheers john.

I bought a Japanese Tele 10 years back for £150. Just sold it to a Scottish dealer for £600 and now it's a DNT zulus. Got three semi acoustics, one I converted which is a Yamaha I bought in in 1985.

Thanks Shrew. I was surprised as I put it on the Fender FB forum looking for £200. I tend to convert old stuff into new things and not waste the money. My Jap Tele' used to be a 12 metre carbon carp pole and seat box.

I've had a go on a couple of Fenders, but never owned one. Always wanted a Jaguar, but my playing days are realistically over, as I have arthritis in my hands.

Hey, the same with me and it's my chord hand affected. My hands are getting better daily. It's caused by unbalanced stomach, gut lining and intestinal gut biome. Changed my diet and the rate of improvement is shocking.

That sounds interesting. A few years ago a friend told me that consuming Gelatain helped him. I tried the same "Knox Gelatain", which came in a package like Jello that you mixed in water, only used as a drink; but I didn't see any improvement after a few weeks so gave up on it.

Gelatine and or collagen is a known cure for digestive healing. Eat it from the natural source rather than processed (bone broth, eat meat off the bone, cheap mince with all the good joints and tendons in it), together with fermented foods, dark chocolate, berries, yogurt.

Arthritis is an auto immune disease proven to be caused by enzymes leaking from the gut into the blood stream. Once the gut starts to heal, the immune system (better known as a healthy Gut Biome) naturally fights all body inflammation, including joints. Flour and ultra refined foods should be avoided. My gout has gone fingers crossed (ouch)

Not wanting to get further away off thread topic, but thanks for the information. (y)
I'm presently awaiting a consultation regarding diet, after receiving radiotherapy, which has caused me difficulties with by digestive system. It would be great if they tell me playing a guitar in the mix would help also, lol.

I’m waiting for an operation on my shoulder I’ve been on waiting list a year . Physio every month and it’s the left shoulder so my guitar playing helps the situation at moment according to my physio . Fractured collarbone was the blame old rugby injury has given me lots of problems. I ride off road and road motorcycles and this shoulder has given me lots of pain.

and my old Daion bass, had it for over 40 years, still prefer it to my Fenders (although I think it came from the same Japanese factory that made Fenders). Still plays very nicely but after doing over 500 gigs it's now retired and just sits around the house in it's favourite chair.

And recently bought a very cheap guitar to practice fret levelling, its a yamaha pacifica that now has a very good fret job, reason i wanted to get into diy luthier jobs was i sent my fender strat (black one in first picture) to a luthier for a refret and it wasnt exactly great despite being highly recommended, so thought if i wanted something doing properly id do it myself, the specialist tools arent cheap or mega expensive but for the cost of another refret and a few setups i have these tools for a very long time.
The Eggle Vienna is a great shape and I've always preferred it to the Berlin. Don't see that many around.....

I have a Fender Strat, wish I could play it.
Even if you can't at present.......the Stratocaster is still a thing of beauty to admire and appreciate! It still amazes me to think that this was designed and first appeared in the very early 1950's and remains in production......virtually unchanged......to this day. God bless Leo Fender.....
