Something a little different I was playing with today, essentially like shooting frameless but with a little extra “frame” chucked together with paracord, I think I’ll call it a stringshot!

Wanted one of these for a long time and they never seemed to be available, took about 5 weeks to come but very impressed with the quality so far, very heavy too, 340grams.
Bargain at just under £12

Not new but these are the frames i use the most.Shoot PFS not full size frames.
Used to attend the Shoots in Sheffield a few years back when all the gang used to attend.Moodley,Skipman,Jumbo and my Buddy Kevs lucky 7.
Not been into the competion shooting for quite a while now but still have the odd day plinking in the back yard.
Favorite event was the 20 meters comp.
It was early days comp wise and from what ive seen on youtube the set ups and competitions have changed quite a lot these days.
Much more professional.
Pete Hogan and gamekeeper john were the main guys producing catties in those days, I see there are many more folk producing now.
Oh not forgetting the chinese junk that used to be on sale .
I prefer wooden catties \ fave being the Spakka made by kevs lucky 7.

That spacka has a great shape to it almost all of those guys are still involved by the way and Kev seems to be getting to a few more of the Welsh ones certainly, some brilliant people on the scene now though too if you ever did fancy getting back into it even for the social side I would say it’s well worth attending an event for a day of fun!

We attended a big event down south.Felt unwell all day at the event and laid down on back seat of car on way home.Jumbo was driving and Norca was shot gun haha.

I attended year after but couldnt grip the PFS so Kev made me the Spakka.Its the shape it is to fit my hand and with lanyard strapped to wrist it helped stop the thing slipping out of my hand and smacking me in the snoz haha

Yea skipman and jumbo are both part of the UKSA and a big driving force for the sport progressing. That frame looks lovely in the hand, very ergonomic. I’ve got issues myself which really affect my grip strength so get where you are coming from!

I’ve not made it that far up yet, I am down south, should be going to Harrogate this year but that’s about 5 hour drive for me, that’s about the biggest and best comp now. If you are close to Sheffield there’s a big group that meet up and shoot every Sunday there, not competitively just a get together shoot and cook up. Camp Bob I believe is Sheffield too that holds a couple decent comps each year.

Also I know I post a little to YouTube but I know a lot of those guys personally and have shot with them both in person and on live comps online and can garunteed you some of those videos took quite a few attempts to make and make them out to look a lot better than they are! I watch a lot of the live stuff but very rarely do I watch pre recorded shooting videos these days for that reason

Yes i know most of them in person and know how many takes they do to get the perfect shot haha.
Sad to hear Skipman not well, im sure Moodley will cheer him up haha.
Paulie skips around a little, Last i saw on youtube he was into the pool competitions and on a health kick.
Got to be 10 years since i last saw the Sheffield crew.
Paulie, Carl and johnboy last visit must be around 8 to 10 years ago as well.
Had many a good laugh and quite a few beers with all these guys.
Still cant remeber name of the pub it all started with .

New frame from wasp arrived today. Great little frame, sort of hybrid between a pfs and a normal frame.
