Shops in the North West region

I have been looking online for any shops near me in the North West region, but the searches bring up the same old stuff, that is mainly online and all over the place.

Shops that I have used not too long ago, within the last couple of years at least.
Rainford fieldsports, J Willdridge and Son Liverpool, Warrington guns ( now closed down). Visited Smiths Surplus in Runcorn a few times, but not bought anything, as I have not spotted anything that I liked.

Does anybody know of any other shops worth checking out? I am fond of classic type Webley pistols, as I want to add to the Hurricane and Tempest that I already have. Also new pistols, if they take my fancy and at the right price.

Not heard of that one, although not an area I ever visit. Thanks, will look them up.
 
There is Tony's Ammo in Saltney, Chester. However, nowehere near the size or amount of choice as Wirral Guns. Used to be friendly enough though.

I do like a nice friendly place, where you can relax and feel at ease. Visited a few places, but some give me an uneasy feeling. Some have tried to sell me items I do not want, even after stating what I was looking for.
 
Field and Falcon, Rosset, Wrexham, knowledgeable and friendly people. North Wales Shooting School, Sealand, Chester, also excellent service.
 
My favourite shop used to be the one in Lark Lane Liverpool, think it used to be run by a chap named Frank. Started my interest back there, when I bought a Gat for £4.50 or was it £7.50 it was way back in 1979/80. I wish I could find another shop, just like this. As I bought many a gun and ammo from him, way back in the day.

If you were Liverpool way in that era you must remember the gun shop near James Street in Liverpool City centre. It was more for shotguns but it was a proper traditional shop.

Yes, near the India buildings. I was in there in the mid 80s, I was mulling over a Tempest/Hurricane it was £65 at the time. I just could not stretch to the amount they wanted. Thinking back now, I should have simply borrowed the extra cash off a family member. :)

Not 100 percent sure, may have been called Richards, or something like that. Green coloured shop, if I remember correctly.

May have even been a Typhoon, that I was looking at. :unsure:
 
I think they have all been mentioned now, but I'm not sure if they stock the kind of stuff your leaning towards. Sadly, more and more is being driven on line, with many of the big retail stores being driven off the high street, our little shops don't stand a chance, so it will eventually be dominated by several large stores who concentrate on mail order and have the showroom almost as a side line :(

I too would have been lusting over a Hurricane but could never have afforded one. Yes it was a green shop by India Buildings.

I don't really like buying online I love visiting shops, especially the shops that deal in the pre-owned goods. I love handling the items, and being able to look into the sellers eyes. :)
