Sales stagnant and very optimistic prices

Very long month since last pay day for some as well. Some prices have a been a little too keen and when the markets slow its not gonna help their cause. But its your items to sell at end of day, even realistically priced isnt moving too fast.
 
I had a Brocock I'd had from new up in November that didn't sell. Priced at 2/3rds to start and go from there, didn't even get an insulting offer. Bad time to sell in run up to and just after Christmas with rubbish weather adding to the financial situation.

Will try again sometime I guess
 
I've done well over the weekend, I advertised 5 springers 4 of which were working and shooting well and one project, they were advertised between here and Guntrader and all sold within 2 days, then some bits and bobs were advertised comprising springs and a trigger mechanism along with some piston seals etc and they sold, I couldn't believe it, paydays still round the corner but I did not bad out of it, it allowed me to buy another pcp, so all is well.
 
Many years ago second hand prices were generally about 60% of the new price
Basically-20 % for the vat and another -20 % off because it was used .not anymore.
Personally if there isn’t enough of a saving I would just buy a new one
 
Many seller are not willing to post and that doesn't help. "Collection only from Guernsey" doesn't really sell something to me in Durham.

There's one in there now though that I'm seriously considering though; despite the fact I'm supposed to be keeping my cash for a new HW95k Homer face palm
 
Mixture of two factors:

People are skint so trying to sell for more in order to cover bills.

People are skint so want to buy cheap, but the other skint people aren't selling cheap. 🤣

Personally I'd rather wait 6 months to sell something at the price I want, rather than sell it straight away for cheap (unless they're a friend)....too many people think they're entitled to a bargain, and get borderline offended if the seller isn't throwing in their first born free with the sale.

If I want it I just pay it.
Can't blame folk for wanting as much as they can get, if they're taking the piss it just won't sell.
It's better now the mugs can't comment on sales posts to tell you it's too expensive for them... translation "sell it me for peanuts so I can flip it later for real money"

True, but then unless you're sick of a gun or desperate for the cash towards something else I'd rather keep it in the cupboard for a while.

If it's a common gun moving all the time it's easy to get a price guide, otherwise 60% is a start point to work from where the haggle doesn't start hundreds apart
