Now this thread isn't currently focused on airguns themselves but on how we store them. After recently moving house for a second time in 12 months im hoping this will be it for a long time.

So im looking for ideas on how to store guns securely and nicely. I currently have an empty room on which im using for storing my hobby bits and pieces at the moment. My current guns are in a makeshift wardrobe, bit this is too small now and since im staying here long term hopefully i would like to have it all setup and displayed properly.

Looking forward to seeing some ideas as i know there is a fair few of you collectors on here. There is also the question as to whether resting barrels against wooden slots or foam is better?

All of my gun racks in assorted locations over the years have had any barrel rests in unfinished ( but fine sanded) wood or wood with felt/ baze over it. I would stay away from plastic or foam direct to the barrel but im old fashioned like that..

@Mrs. H linked me this and I'm currently building a small one in the corner of my office to squeeze 7 rifles into a relatively tight space, I think this looks great on a wall if you're strapped for space and want to display a lot of rifles!

@Mrs. H linked me this and I'm currently building a small one in the corner of my office to squeeze 7 rifles into a relatively tight space, I think this looks great on a wall if you're strapped for space and want to display a lot of rifles!

That looks incredible and doesn't look to bad to make. Im hoping to make something more free standing as the walls aren't the best here . I hope squeezed in that corner there is a hw30 as mentioned before .

Long enough screws in the wall and you should be golden, or just keep it to the bottom layer with something to keep it off the carpet

Cheers, cabinet cost me £10 and light was £11 .

Yes that could work, although it would have to be off the floor to prevent the dogs chewing the stocks . This is the best idea so far. Might design it one either side of a work bench maybe.

Just a point to think about, it looks like they are all new rifles with NO scopes on, you’ll have to account for them in the build

Yes that shouldn't be a problem. I only really use small scopes anyway so shouldn't take up much room. Unless i start collecting those as well .

Heres my creation from scrap wood and L brackets. Its a lockable cabinet screwed to the corner/wall.. Not pretty and its got a few panel gaps Only built to take 6 but crammed a few more rough ones in round the edges.

Always on the lookout for a nice large cabinet of suitable dimensions to modify or i might build a better 'mk2 version' one day
