Reximex Mito : Fully Adjustable rear sight ?

I put a wanted add on here and got a Falcon FN rear sight. The dovetail on the FN sight is a bit too big for the Mito, I have put a piece of packing in to take up the play, see photo. You can also see from the last photo how much taller it is than the standard sight, again I packed the front sight until it was inside the adjustment scope of the rear sight. As well as this I have changed the trigger springs and while I'm at it every screw that I remove gets a dab of blue locktite.

Maybe we should start a petition asking Reximex to create a fully adjustable rear sight for the mito. I guess there's a good market for it!
I emailed them with that exact suggestion, alternatively it might be a nice job for a small or hobbyist engineering company.

Could you put a shim under the front sight which would have the effect of lowering the aim point so it would be suitable for target shooting. It may be a little trial and error to get it right but once it’s done that’s it. May be a bit nearer than trying to fit something different to the rear of the gun. Ps I have been in the local gun shop today trying to find something to fit the rear dovetail rail and came away empty handed as nothing would fit

Could you put a shim under the rear sight ? I know it’s on dove tail - the alternative is to replace the front sight with an adjustable one - which may be simpler. You could simply replace the front sight with a suitably sized grub screw or hex head bolt ?

That is what I have done, I play guitar so have a tin of plectrums which come in different thickness. I cut shims and tried them until I found the correct one.

Replace the rear sight with something adjustable is the only good option if you're shooting different distances.
The front sight is somewhat adjustable in height, it just cannot drop enough. You could probably filing a little off from the top, but I would not advise that.

I agree - but I am looking to use it for 10m target shooting so setting it up this way is ok for me - and it’s a lot cheaper than buying a new gun

Did you put the shims under the front or rear sight ? My thoughts are that you need to raise the rear or lower the front

I raised the front sight to match the Falcon rear sight that I've fitted. Photos at top of page.

At 10m I am aiming off of the bottom of the target with the existing sights.
I went through our local gun shop also.
HW77 rear sight was too tight a fit and raised the sight too high. It could be forced on bit would burl the aluminium dovetail. Testing it partly on it was too high even adjusted all of the way down. Diana have an adjustable rear sight which is dovetail. It is a plastic affair. Though. The elevation adjustment screw passes through and into the rifle dovetail as a means to secure it, so not ideal either.
My foresight is pivoted with grub screws to set at either side, but the adjustment is inadequate.
Do all Mito sights have the tru glow fibres in can anyone tell me?
The search continues....

Rear sight replaced with an Eagle Vision dovetail to picatinny adaptor and a MTC Atom.

Damn……was on the cusp of buying one, but I want it good out of the box

As someone dealing with the same issue after buying an RPA I optimistically (naively) ordered a HW77 rear sight.

As noted previously in this thread though, it doesn't really fit unless you're really patient and willing to use a slight amount of force. (Basically pushing it on and off again repeatedly, wearing down the finish and a hair of material on the RPA receiver.

And what that user also pointed out is that once mounted it sits too high. By pure happy coincidence I had the front piece of a Diana Airbug lying around which turns out to use the same threads for the front sight notch (and is considerably higher).

I wouldn't really recommend this solution to anyone else because of how poor of a fit the HW77 was (it's not coming off without a mallet and wooden dowel at this point so I'll just consider it permanent). I'm very happy with the outcome, although Reximex says newer models with serials starting on 23 comes with adjustable rear sights, so maybe current/future buyers won't have the same issue. :)

Attaching some photos of the end result with the HW77.

I recently purchased a superb Mito from a forum member, who had retro fitted an HW99 rear sight, a superb conversion, here’s a link to his work, credit to @zx6fighter

I may have imagined it!!!
But I thought the newest Mito's were going to have an improved rear sight???
