Ratworks HW100 cylinder

Afternoon all,

Does anyone know if these are plug and play? As in unscrew the original cylinder and screw this one on? I know some require the end cap removing. Also, if anyone can speak from experience, does it give you a decent return on shot count? It's a .22 HW100 I have at the minute, which is good for about 140 shots

My .22 100BP already had a Ratworks tube fitted so no idea if its just a straight swap & go but the shot count is definitely up- i can put 7 or 8 mags (100 or so shots) through it before i start thinking about filling it up as opposed to the 60 or 70 in an unRatworksed (is that a word?) one

The wording seems somewhat obscure but in there it does state it will fit all models of HW100.

Simply unscrew your standard cylinder assembly and replace it with ours.

Suggesting it is complete in every way.

I've had two, currently still using one, both of which I replaced the originals with after buying the guns. Both were K length but that's incidental and one was .177, the other .22. But that's incidental too. As is one being a laminate.

Incidentals aside, they were both plug and play. In fact, it's very easy and a light hand screwing it in is all it takes, in fact being heavy handed is a bad idea because there's an o-ring involved that can get damaged and cause a leak.

The only caveat I would add is that I can only speak about relatively new HW100, say the last ten years, as that's when mine were manufactured. Older models (no idea what date range, though) do have some differences to my versions and there is now slightly changed version of mine (they have a pic rail now, rather than dovetail, I believe".

My experience is that there is an increase in shot count over the standard but just getting the Ratworks cylinder won't give a big increase, the chief gain is they are much lighter. To get the significant uplift in shotcount, it needs an uprated regular but that's another topic.

Yes, the Ratworks cylinder just screws onto the HW100 after removing the standard Weihrauch one.

Earlier In the year I purchased a Ratworks cylinder for my HW100s and It literally just screwed straight on as a direct replacement. And In my opinion It looks much better than the standard Weihrauch cylinder as well

i thought they came with out the gauge and the other end you can buy them or use your own. i have one on my hw100 you can fill to 250bar if you have the tench regulator fitted but only to 200bar if standard.. a lot lighter though.

You're confusing the HW100 Tuning and Ratworks units.

As others have said, yes they are just plug and play, yes they are complete with gauge and fittings and no, they don't interfere with the XL or any other mod. I have them on both my HW100's and they make a small difference to the shot count but a big difference to the balance and handling of the gun.
