Exactly what I use - very robust! Got mine from Amazon...
So what are you all using for .22 tins?
I use these too. I agree they're a great solution. If there's any downside it's that you can't see what pellet is in each case. You either need to label them or buy in different colours. Mine were sold as headphone cases. Obviously the in-ear type, as opposed to the over-ear type for people with really teeny weeny headsI use these. You can pick them up on Aliexpress for literally pennies. They are usually about 90p each but if you buy a few at a time and take advantage of their offers you can get them for much less. I bought one batch of five cases and they worked out at 12p per case. Absolutely perfect size for pellet tins. Zip closers. It's almost as if they were made for this purpose (but they weren't). They come from China and you sometimes have to wait a week or so for them to arrive. There is always loads of stuff that is useful on Aliexpress so round your order up to about £15 and the carriage cost is next to nothing.
H&N FTT tins of 500 in .22 have screw top lids. Just decant other .22 pellets into that tin when it's empty. So what are you all using for .22 tins?
I think you can buy empty screw top tins pretty cheap.
....... It might be worth seeing if iHunter would sell you a few - they've used them to package my deliveries in the past. If my memory serves me correctly, they've put .177 tins of pellets in empty bigger .22 sized empty screw tins![]()
@Gilbert66 What was the search term you used for these please as I'm struggling to find them after a quick search.I use these. You can pick them up on Aliexpress for literally pennies. Oh come on now, won’t you give a thought for those poor bean counters who’ve done such a wonderful job and managed to save a couple of quid a year by reducing the metal used in the tin by 25 milligrams?Just an early week moan really…
I get more than a bit pissed off with those pellet manufacturers who lazily just put there pellets into a tin with only a press-on lid rather than a screw lid.
After having a few tins tip over and spill out in my range bag it means I now have to bother to put sticky tape over them which I’m not a fan of.
Come on lazy manufacturers, do the job properly and use screw lid tins (even if it does add a few pence to the cost).
…oh, and whilst at it how about considering a raised lid which sits inside the base of the tin so you can stack them without them toppling over, like they do with tins of Lidl chopped tomatoes.
The good manufacturers do it.
Not important I know but thoughtful design is cheap and makes a difference. Lazy design is annoying. Doesn’t give reassurance about the pellets inside the crap tins.
Empty shoe polish tins ?I just had a mishap spilling a tin of pellets down the cushions of the sofa. I am surptised nobody has yet suggested using empty shoe polish tins with the little twisty theng to pop the lid off. These come in 2 sizes about the same size as pellet tins.
Would this help?Just an early week moan really…
