PCP compressor

I have just filled 5 guns (=500 shots) from 100 bar up to about 220 bar with a total running time of just 10 minutes on my YongTinh Hang it all.... No oil deposited at filter inlet. No trace of damp on filter inlet. Outside air 18 degrees, RH 75%.. Compressor ran from 20 degrees at start to about 45 degrees at end of each fill. No damp corrosion ever visible in stripped guns.
Filtering dual stage- the first the small one supplied that is not bad on its own. A second larger filter for "peace of mind". The moisture indicator crystals in that one have never changed colour in 3 years. (Which is evidence that the first small filter is doing a good job). I do also cool these 2 with a freezer gel bag wrapped round them, and the guns are cool when filled. 215 bar might drop back to 205 bar.
I started a thread a few months back on "Why do compressors perform better than expected?". No-one argued significantly against that basic premise. Any "corrosion damage" reported (very few cases) could usually be blamed by a secondary factor, such as a grease or lubricant or even an extreme of gross stupidity and neglect.
My conclusion from all the evidence I've assessed is that peace of mind from stacks of filters is good but might well be an expensive and unnecessary luxury.

So went to use it in earnest today and it got to 200 Bar, I opened the tank valve as it had 200 Bar in it, it got it up to about 210Bar and went BANG, the safety cap blew.............Its going back to Amazon.......and I have less air in the tank than when I started :ROFLMAO:

which one did u get from amazon exactly?
this one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D8YJT3PR

as similar thing happened to me and I just replaced the top burst disc, I also use a best fittings one way inline valve and have had no further burst discs.

one way valves

Yep exactly that one, worrying why it should pop though at only 210 Bar? I prefer to return it as the return window is still open and I don't have to deal with the seller under warranty etc, just Amazon at this time........

it'll just be a weak burst disc. Prob too thin. It only needed a new burst disc fitted.

Tbh, if you want to fill to 300 bar with these types of compressor, two burst discs is the way to go. Most burst discs fitted to 300 bar compressors will blow between 250 and 300 bar.

I've also got a GX CS4. It apparently can fill to 400 bar yet they fit a burst disc that could let go at 350 bar.

Do you think the one way valve helps prevent the burst disc at all ?

I only really want to fill the tank to about 260 bar

It wont help prevent a burst disc but it would prevent your bottle emptying if the burst disc fails (assume the one way valve is attached to the bottle)

Done this journey myself with loads of cheap version. Ended up with a Hills Evo and never looked back
