Newly installed boiler is boiling my pi#%

Might be a bit early to share this saga but I've had sleepless nights and vaguely warm showers because of it Long story but bear with me!
A week ago I had a brand new boiler fitted as my old one was 15 years old and although gave me very hot water and radiators in double quick time with brilliant water flow and pressure, the new one simply does not.
The new one doesn't provide anything like warm water even after minutes of running, so washing up and hand washing is usually done in cold water unless running the water for 5 minutes or more. My thermostatic shower is useless as it requires a supply temperature of 55-65°C which looking at the boiler output temperature display never even comes close to that.
The boiler controls for hot water and radiator temperatures are on 65 and 70°C respectively. Vaguely warm water for handwashing will happen after wasting unacceptable amounts of water first and radiadiators will eventually, very slowly, get hot. If I restrict the tap flow to virtually nothing, water temp seems to go up and get warmer quicker. Preheat function does not seem to make any noticeable difference.
So why am I extremely fed up? Well the authorised installer says its fine and all the settings are correct but what he's left me with is taps that waste water trying to get warm water and a thermostatic shower which doesn't function properly I wish I kept the old one!!

I'm not heating engineer but this can't be right but the installer says it is which is unbelievable!

Am sure an ‘authorised’ installer would have tested for this when it was commissioned and not left until it worked the same or better than your old one!
If you don’t get any satisfaction from them, phone the manufacturer.

Something not right have you looked at the switches under the flap on the front the end one usually has water only-or water and heating this usually has a rest also what temp is the read out showing? ours sits at 76 it was very low when fitted fitted i turned the switch up teh gas fitter said it was law to be set at 58 i new he was talking out of his ---le --if its under warranty you need to complain

He did and I have! He did come back the next day to try something but that didn't work. He told me to call the manufacturers as I have a guarantee but said all the specs have been met and they would say its ok! Trust me it isnt! I've called them and they are coming out Friday.

It is. And apparently it's better than the old one, according to the installer. It isn't by far!

Sounds like it’s majorly under sized and isn’t giving the correct performance, it might not set up properly or there is an undersized gas pipe/to low working gas pressure. If the manufacturer is coming out they will slaughter his work if it’s not up to standard

How many radiators have you got? If its 10 or more you'll need a boiler with an output of 28kw or higher. However, even if it's under powered, it should give preference to domestic hot water (taps) and they should heat up fully. 60°C is actually a regulation on minimum output temperature to prevent Legionnaires disease.

Same boat …. I had a new modern “more efficient “ boiler installed about 4 years ago (at the cost of circa 3k) to replace the old 14 year old boiler - the newer one is nowhere near as good!
Water is fine, but heating? Nah, takes an age to warm the house and doesn’t get anywhere close to as warm as before ….. I’d have the old one back in a heartbeat, it was far superior.

The installer should also be registered with Gas safe or whatever the latest iteration of Corgi is and he will probably take a threat to talk to them seriously as will they if you do talk to them and it is an unsatisfactory installation.

The new boiler is 24kw. Which is the same as the old one it replaced. I have 9 radiators in a very small bungalow.

I would doubt that it's a fault with installation, it either works or it doesn't. Unless of course there's a massive airlock or a sludge build up in the pipes. Did he flush the system prior to fitting the new boiler?

He is and an authorised installer for this make of boiler.

I would doubt that it's a fault with installation, it either works or it doesn't. Unless of course there's a massive airlock or a sludge build up in the pipes. Did he flush the system prior to fitting the new boiler?

He did flush the system and installed the manufacturers filter system

When a registered gas fitter,fitted our combi he said to keep the hot water and heating dials set to ECO.
That is the best settings in the valient booklet also. The hot water never gets to 60!
Also read that the water to be hot enough to wash and bath in without uusing cold water? we ignored that

As much as i sympathise and can understand your angst, why did you appear to replace a perfectly serviceable boiler, that may have had another 5 years left in it - i had a completely new GCH system put in last July, but the old system was totally shot at, and was 20 + years old?

That only applies to stored hot water. eg: HW cylinder etc.
Current building regs also limit temperature at taps to avoid scalding in the young or elderly, via thermostatic mixing vales, usually to about 58oC if memory serves, but that also only applied to new builds, or if installing new bathrooms, etc, so should not affect existing. I'm assuming the installer did not change taps or install new bathroom/kitchen whilst installing the boiler?
Not a heating engineer, but sounds like either undersized boiler not capable of servicing the property?
Did the heating engineer do proper heat calcs before installing the boiler? He should have done.
I assume he was gas safe registered?
Was it just a straight boiler swap with no other changes/alterations.
If he did other changes/alteration, what were they? eg: did he change rads, rad valves, controls, room stats, pipes, etc?
Can you tell if the gas pipes is the correct size? eg: it should be 22mm (3/4") from the meter up to about 1m away from the boiler. The last bit can be 15mm (1/2") pipe.
Also, did he flush the old system to get rid of sludge etc? he should have done, its good practice and often a boiler manufacturers warranty is not valid if the system was not flushed, so worth checking of he did it and the wording of the warranty.
A new boiler should have no bother providing adequate hot water and heating if done right.
