New Springer

HW95k .22. Nice and light break barrel accurate out to 100 yards with holdover using Bisley Superfields at the range but not T/H stock though and let’s not overlook the HW35k break barrel, again nice and light, full power and very manoeuvrable.

TXs and HW97s are heavy for walk about pest control.

HW35 comes in roughly 200g lighter than the HW97, wouldn’t call it lightweight by any means. Claiming accuracy out to 100 yards is also a bit of a stretch in my opinion…

I’ve owned both, sold the TX.

Black, synthetic thumbhole 97 mate. It’d fit your needs perfectly. Pick one up for WAY less than the equivalent AA.

Fantastic guns that just keep going….

Anybody who tries a hunting shot at 100yds with a sub 12ft lbs rifle should never be allowed near an airgun. I’m not saying you’re recommending it but why state “accurate out to 100 yards with holdover at the range” in a thread about hunting? Could be seen as insinuating that long range hunting shots are possible, when they should be avoided with sub 12s.

Remington Express or Pest Controller seem to be a reasonably priced pest control air guns. At least they are with many local farmers where l live.

You don’t mention your budget?

read it again my friend then again before trying to stir it up. I knew my claim of accuracy would be questsioned but it’s true and I’ve already mentioned it on a different thread. I did emphasise ‘at the range’ I did not speak of hunting at such ranges, I’m an experienced shooter like we mostly all are on here and would never condone shooting any quarry at those distances with sub 12, don’t be ridiculous.
Read it again please.

The Tx200HC .22 is a useful hunting tool.
A reliable and extremely accurate gun with a superb trigger.
Very easy to maintain.
Buy s/h as they are a tad ££ new these days.

If I was called out for pesting, I'd take my Cometa:
Shoulders great, good trigger, good weight, very accurate and a breaker.

Walking about pest control or sitting still pest control? For walking about probably a hw99 or hw95, for sitting still then maybe a tx200hc or hw97.
Exactly this 👆👆👆

💯 Hw99 for out and about. It's light, very accurate and doesn't muzzle flip like a 95 (IME). 77/97k for settled in. If you want something a bit more stylish (and expensive) tx200 or pro sport
