I have no reason to lie, I have only had my shotgun as section 1 for about 6 months. Have been told that I can carry on using it but once the renewal comes it will be taken off and must be put to a 3 shot. It’s a decision that’s already been made and is being implemented. Not sure if it’s nationwide I am west Mercia

Can't really take that claim (from the FEO) seriously to be honest. FEOs vary massively in competence and knowledge, and different forces try to pursue their own agendas too. That would need primary legislation to introduce and the Government hasn't published any details of the forthcoming S2 consultation, let alone any changes to S1 coverage, and they've not made any public noises about restricting S1 shotguns (probably because they've never been used in crime). I've also known FEOs claim that historic handguns that are literally permitted via stature law aren't permissible and others who claim you need to list muzzle loading projectiles on FAC, so it'll take it with a massive pinch of salt until I see something in law. Also, I can't seen them wanting to still allow them for practical, which the antis hate, but banning them for pigeon control over crops etc. Not that I'm saying the OP is lying, but I suspect the FEO may be telling porkies or that FLO is making it up as they go along.
