Ok I slight exageration, I picked up the Pro Target yesterday and the Sig is a mates from work, but he want's me to sell it and doesn't know I probably have already; to me!
Ok, first up. Air Arms Pro Target, bought off @Riggs on here. I already have a Pro Target, but since increasing my Air Arms 90s collection with a TX200SR, Pro Elite and Pro Sport, I really wanted a totally original Pro Target. My old was is clean, but I subsequently found out it's not standard. That didn't matter at the time and it shoots wonderfully. This new one is in great condition and with a couple of subtle swaps with my old one it's now what I'd call almost immaculate with very light signs of use.
I shot them both this afternoon, same glass, barrels pulled through, pellets, everything, and both identical excellent performance. Tomorrow I'm taking them to the club to get out on the HFT/FT course; the XTi is having a week off, as is the TX200SR for a change.
Here's my old one (actually a little bit newer) just for comparision.
Then for something completely different! .22 semi auto Sig MCX Virtus. This has had a modification so the trigger works 'normally' and the grey finish has been painted over in black; a really professional finish too. The grey butt is because he has another butt stock for it, I just don't have it as it was given to me in the box. I watched a few reviews of these this week and was thinking it was going to bad from what I'd seen. Have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Probably 50p sized groups at 20 yards, slightly less when prone (not kneeling). Main accuracy issues lie with the rotary magazine mechanism and trigger, not the barrel. Even from what I've seen today it's clear to see there's a repeatable flyier with one chamber in the mag (1st). I suspect it's to do with it being the first in the chain but early days. I got round it by loading pellets from the 2nd chanber and this worked well.
Anyway, photo taken before scope (10x44 for now) was fitted. It's actually pretty good on irons too at 20 although it's never going to be a 'target' gun down to the trigger and mag set up. Where I'll happily hit a 15mm spinner at 20 yards kneeling with most of my springers and the Pro Targets today, the Sig was a 25mm spinner at 20 yards to be repeatable.
Another plus with this rifle is it's a lot quieter than I was expecting although banging off 20-30 rds rapid in a back garden is going to be annoying for the neighbours, so I'll be clever when and where I use it. Lets face it, this will be my 15th rifle now with 5 pistols too, so won't be my go to most days.
