Good Morning!

My wife is buying me an air rifle for my 40th and I have whittled it down to three. Daystate Huntmans Revere, Brocock Sniper or the Air Arms S510R Ultimate sporter. The AA and Brocock in the laminate colour. Does anyone have any advice or experience shooting these? I use them for range plinking and rarely field work.

Thank you!

All very capable guns, the only thing with the Revere is the low comb height (unless you get the Safari version) so if you go for a 50mm+ objective lens on the scope you may struggle with head position which is where an adjustable comb from Nobby comes in. That would be about the same cost as a spare beech s/h stock for the S510 as the laminate is heavy to carry around.

I've not shot the Sniper, only the earlier Bantam so can't really comment on it. The semi-bullpup style is easy to get used to though, and you'd get a lot higher shot count with the bottle

The Brocock sniper xr is a lovely gun to shoot,I ve owned one and loved it, can't comment on the other 2 as never shot them, but all 3 are good options, all the best with your choice,

AA is heavy

Out of those would be the Revere for me. Only Daystate I'd have.
Followed by Brocock. I had a Pathfinder and it was very pleasing.
I wouldn't touch AirArms personally, the 510 is a well rated gun but their quality control seems to be a bit of a dice roll lately...

As someone that has 11 of them from 90's to this year, I am curious about this statement? Not wanting to debate as we all have our preference but just where the opinion comes from as I couldn't fault mine and they are the most reliable and accurate of all my many brands and models.

Can't say I've ever had issues with AA quality in over 30 years of using there guns and I've had many, many examples.
Infact I've recently bought another S410k and it's excellent.

Purely the issues that seem to pop up relatively frequently on here. I don't claim any great expertise 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've a AA510 which is fantastic, but if you want to hedge your bets, ask for a HW77 and a Cometa Springer for the same price :-)

So I don't have a Revere or sniper but I do have a wolverine r and ghost and a s510 r, and if I could only keep one ( apart from being very sad) it would be the 510.
They all have their pros and cons it absolutely irritates me AA put the mags on the opposite side to the lever but many other things make up for it and even without the 'R' they are aRe very consistent and if BR is a consideration then definitely the better, again in my humble opinion ( honestly not an opinionated guy :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: )

Could you possibly expand on that ? Lots of makes/models regularly come up on here with issues... Can't say AA falls in that category tbh.

my new S510R US was clipping about a week into ownership. I contacted AA and they fell over themselves to rectify the problem.

Every now and again, you’re going to have issues with any gun. How the company reacts and puts it right is the important thing and I couldn’t fault AA,

All good!!!! Brocock is a great gun, but for me has to be the 510 US…. Great gun and I’m a big fan of the laminate stock. Though, I do agree …. The super lite stock is a good option…. I’ve one of those on my S500 and it does make it easier to handle in the field….IMG_7962.jpegIMG_7406.jpeg
