New from HIK Micro …

That lever on the zoom ring might be removable, too. I think the LRF unit would look better on the side than the top, and in a smoother housing.

Side focus is big, especially when using an illuminator.
I hate front focus if it requires, part of the hand being in the light path.
If your torch is under the action, or well out of the way its OK, but I have had situations where trying to twist a firm front focus meant there was no light on the target to focus with.
Also levers for zoom (I assume) will take advantage of standard muscle memory.

Going between night sights is a pain if we have to remember what button is where, and how to call up the right menus.

Some interesting stuff in this thread, hoping all will become clear at the show but is it available to buy or just to showcase it ? .

Couldn't find the price in there though.

I agree, it looks very good, but I can't see that the extra expense and weight is justifiable for Sub 12.

Yes for a centrefire by the looks of things.

One thing I don't like is the inbuilt battery - that will degrade over time and replacement is likely to be expensive and time consuming.

Good point re battery which also has me wondering what the life expectancy of the scope will be. Digital cameras seem well sorted and built to last so hopefully these scopes are on par.

It seems odd the Hik Micro have gone on to running their thermal monocular on 18650 batteries, so why not the scopes? I don't know anywhere enough about to know why.

Battery is not really an issue. It is the same configuration as the Alpex lite. The new unit has a 3350 mAh internal Li-on battery and comes with an 18650 for external charging as the second battery. Gives a total of a claimed 7hrs.

My lite does about 4.5 on a cold and wet January using the LRF a fair bit......which is about a bit more real world. Easy enough to pop another 18650 in if needed.

I agree, more for foxing and up. Interesting they claim a new proprietary Light Pro algorithm for last and first light. Looking forward to seeing footage of that as its the only thing that would make me get one.

Batteries do definitely degrade, but perhaps by the time it needs replacing the scope will be years old and the next best thing will also have come and gone too 🤷🏻‍♂️

Looks to be a great step forward and appears that customer feedback has been taken into account, given the quality of life improvements on top of technology advances. Having only recently bought the 4k lite LRF, personally am glad the Pro models are heavy (889g pro lrf, 474g 4k lite LRF) , as it makes it much easier for me to avoid temptation for a fast upgrade. At least until the Pro Lite (or Lite Pro) comes out ;)

Not sure if everyone has seen this video yet, but worth a share. I looks good so far. (y)

Like the side focus. Just to be an t#£t and to start a bun fight I’d like it to be on the left for us cack handers, or at least give us the option. I know it wouldn’t make commercial sense to do it just for the few left handers out here but I live and dream. Was just about to pull the trigger on a DNT but think I might have a decent gander at the pro

The side focus is on the left hand side.
