I wonder if one of you lucky chaps with access to a lathe could make something for me? One of my expensive cowboy blank firers has broken its firing pin, and I have had no luck getting in touch with the manufacturer. It's only about an inch long and no more than a quarter inch or so in diameter. I could send you the broken one to copy, and would happily pay for your time and trouble. I have a £1,000 pistol sitting useless, and show season is starting!

Does it need to be hardened?

Post a pic of the broken one

I am in negotiation with @STR Strat, or at least I will be tomorrow when he recovers from the London Marathon.....

Here's two of them then! Together, they cost me £2245. The one with the wooden grips is the one STR Strat helped me to fix. Sadly, it got damaged by rust, so it isn't really worth what I paid for it anymore, but I wouldn't take less than £900 for it if i ever sold it. The pearl gripped version is a rare 7 shooter, and is possibly worth more than I paid for it.

They are expensive because they aren't made anymore, and they aren't allowed to make them the same way anymore. I know a guy who allegedly owns dozens of them. I say allegedly because I have never seen them, but I have no particular reason to doubt him.
