I'm looking to customise the m3 impact to try and compact it slightly.
I'm after a moderator that's between 28.5 and 30mm in diameter. And as close to 100mm in length as possible.
I've asked a member about getting a custom one made but he said it can only be done in 32mm stock to be effective which is too large.
Needs to be black, on a 1/2 unf fitting.
If anyone can be bothered could you measure your MOD diameter and if it's in the parameters could you please let me know what make and model it is please.

TIA
Paul

0dB short gets close, but I think you're gonna be looking at a Huggett Atom, although can't remember their diameter, even those may be 32mm.

I had a similar issue the other week but wasn't constrained by length, just diameter. Not much stuff is 30mm or under, and it's generally long if it is (standard HW mod etc).

At over 30 I'm looking at it pushing against the bottle and possibly trying to bow the barrel upwards.
I've done Google Searches but TBH it's sh*t and that new AI thing winds me right up. 😂

Think Huggett do a cone attaching end that might solve your problem.
Also, maybe think about getting one of our members to make a shaped end?

The thin one is just under 30mm
The thick one nearly 40mm
They’re both longer than 100mm
But as they’re 3D printed, and I did the CAD, it’s possible to shorten the thin one and use one less baffle. (The stack is a bunch of individual parts)

I can make it as a test and fire my gun through it for sound reference if fully PETG plastic would fit your ideas?
I need to get this onto the members’ makes listing with a couple of other ideas.

Nearest one I know of is the Air Arms Q-tec its 30mm in diameter but its too long for you at 220mm.

Just a quick question, but how affective would a short narrow silencer actually be?

This is Airgun Andy's chart and the unsilenced air rifle has 104 DB output, but the short silencer that are still 20mm longer and 1 mm wider than what your looking at only reduce the noise by 14 db.

So one at 30mm x 100mm may only reduce the noise by 8 - 10 db.

I Would be more than happy to sample one by all means. I'm not averse to having a printed one at all. How would the finish look? be could it be dressed neatly with something like 1500 wet and dry to remove any lines from the print?

I'm unsure but very interested to find out.
The standard FX one is literally am empty canister and you can pretty much just hear the hammer click.
If the size was correct I'd happily just use the FX one.

If you can drop a module I think you may have something at 30mm x 100mm . If you can get hold of one that is maybe worth checking out.

Good morning Paul , I have one here on my little mito , . Mine is 30mm by 120mm x 1mm carbon tube , the only negative to some people is it has a delrin end cap not Ali . It’s ridiculously quiet

This is a 14x1 thread unfortunately

I have a Webley QGS 4 fitted to the end of my Daystate MKIV IS… It’s not the quietest mod out there but it fits your parameters almost perfectly.

It’s good enough to tame the bark from a rifle but won’t make it silent. They’re well made and come with a couple of different adapters (mine’s got the 1/2in UNF fitted as standard. They’re not expensive either. :)

If you are open to the idea of a shroud/integrated silencer, then have a chat with @Tricky-Dicky , he maybe able to do you a nice one.
He has done quite few very effective and good looking ones.

I'm having to reduce the length of the shroud anyway so that could be an option.
I'll drop him a message. Thanks for the steer.

I asked ChatGPT for you.. it reckons this is closest…

Huggett Atom (Mini Belita)

Length: 89mm
Diameter: 31mm
Weight: 70g
Calibers: .177 to .22
Thread Options: Multiple, including 1/2 UNF Female Flat and 1/2 UNF Male Flat.
While its diameter is slightly above your range at 31mm, it’s one of the closest matches in terms of length and performance.

There is a soundbiter also but i cant find a any details at present . its Delrin like the NM one . i think its smaller in length but i may be wrong.

Have a word with @Frog who advertises in the members made section in sales

He made me 2 nice compact mods for use on a Steyr
