Mini-rant, let’s hear yours.

That would change if the wind blew in the opposite direction  it would then be anticlockwise
Which is exactly what’s going on here. The leading edge of the aircraft’s vertical stabiliser is considered to be the flag pole. With the aircraft moving the wind would (appear to) come from right to left therefore this orientation meets the requirement for @Jesterdog’s thick white stripe up at the staff. The opposite side of the vertical stabiliser is the mirror image.

Gun shop groupies, the numpty that hangs around for hours on end with absolutely no intention of buying anything but commenting on everything that happens in the shop and offers there advice on everything you glance at.. Usually making reference to their time in 'The Special Forces'

Mostly with very bad personal hygiene and funny teeth

Special needs more like and every gun shop seems to have them

Twats on push bikes with no lights.

Now the dark mornings are here, going to work at 6.30am the amount of dick heads on bikes with no lights is ridiculous

Nah, just twats on push bikes in the way.

I was told years ago that the thick white lines follow the red stripes when going clockwise - which makes sense to my mind, anyway.

Not a big deal for me though, I prefer my flag.

Did you know the Welsh flag only became so in 1959

Troubling me for the past couple of years, local large commercial businesses (not farmers, they're brilliant in our area) using tractors 24/7 to run freight, produce, machinery and employees over large distances and not pulling in at lay-bys when they have 30+ cars behind them.

I take my son to work at a local hospital, about 15 miles away. It can make a 20 min journey, 45 mins, and has over a year nearly doubled my fuel costs. I assume they have the benefit of using red diesel for their journey!

This! Common just about everywhere although perversely indicating lane change on motorways is becoming more prevalent particularly from the higher marque cars, we’ve Lane-Assist to thank tor that.
Ah yes, lane assist.
That's the one that tries to steer you into the back of parked cars and make you run cyclists over🤨
Not to be mistaken for anti collision/adaptive cruise that slams your brakes on when a crisp packet blows across the road somewhere in the next county.
Or auto stall (stop start) that makes pulling out of a busy junction feel like a game of Russian roulette.
Or speed monitoring that distracts you with annoying bleeps and pings for mile after mile because it didn't see the national speed limit sign and still thinks you are in a 30mph zone.
Can you guess what my mini rant is?
Bloody annoying "it's for your own good" tech in modern cars😡

Ah yes, lane assist
Happy with it on motorways but it gets turned off every time I get into my car. Never heard of it, got a hire car in Holland and within a mile (possibly 1.6km) I was looking for somewhere to u-turn to return the car as it had faulty steering. Fortunately I found ‘the’ button before I embarrassed myself.

At the flagpole side, Thin red stripe goes to the bottom edge
At the top it goes to the pole.
Simple.
As I pointed out to the guardroom of an Army Barracks I recently visited 🤨

And those massive tractors destroying the sides of the road, huge pot holes.
Someone told me you often get tractors pulling stuff usually meant for lorries because anyone can drive a tractor so don't have to pay a HGV driver.
