does anyone have a air arms pro sport?
I used to have a TX200 HC in .177 back in 2021 and regret selling it.
I am looking at a HW100 but wondering what a pro sport is like.

They are pretty rifles lovely walnut on some.

I had one in .177 it was a lovely looker,

apart from that silver underlever airarms have never changed! They should anodise it black inmo.

I also bought a tx200 new back in the 1990s and my opinion was the TX is (was) a nicer rifle to shoot.

I had some twang with the prosport it wasnt bad some pellets more than others but I put in a new spring and seal and it improved it a bit

also the underlever liked to jump out of its slot which was annoying but there was a way to adjust it iirc, but that orginal tx I bought didnt need any tuning it was smooth as silk to shoot and laser accurate never had any issues.

My opinion is if you want a prosport go for it in .22 if you want .177 get a TX 👍

Would I buy a prosport new, probably not I would look for a walnut secondhand one to save a bit, that said would I buy a new tx probably not, prices have gone up quite a bit since I bought mine, but are they the nicest springers available probably.

Still had many happy hours hunting with the prosport though, admiring its looks inbetween shots.

Well its all subjective innit?
But, yes my PS is deffo worth it to me.
They are very similar to the TX200, so if you liked that, then odds are that you will like the PS too.
Ignore the moaning, luddite, knuckle draggers, with soft hands, who find the PS cocking lever a bit too sharp for their delicate little fingers, ah, bless em...... they is just whiny wimps with no backbone.
Best looking springer bar none IMHO.
Just get the PS, or you will always regret not getting one.......
(y) :)

NB: not biased, I have also owned a TX and still have a TX clone (Bam40)...

Not owned one but have shot one in .177 Found it heavy but no more so than its rivals. Did not like the recessed short cocking lever needed more effort to cock than the TX or HW97.
Personally would not pay the price for new one, would rather sink similar amount into a PCP such as AA510 or the Hw100 but then of course you have to figure in an air bottle.
If it must be a springer then I would suggest a 97. or 77 or TX200 in walnut but if not fussed re the wood a nice used Walther LGU or LGV would be as accurate and be a few hundred less than a new Pro sport

The Pro Sport defo is a nice springer, but sadly its a tad heavy/bulky for me but what put me right off buying one recently was that Under Lever, surely AA could have made it more ergonomic so it doesn't hurt the hand with a heavy shooting sess.. ?
Either way, if you're a tweaker/tuner, you'll probably get it open to improve, so better of buying a 97k IMHO based on price/tweaking.
Sorry, a personal opinion....

I’ve owned twoProsport .177’s and one .22 the .22 I still own and will never sell. For me the .22 has a better shot cycle. I have no issue with the cocking lever and find it easier to cock than my .22 Tx200HC which is no longer with me. In my opinion the best looking spring powered air rifle on sale today. Would I pay new price for one no I wouldn’t I would look for a nice used one they’re out there just be patient.

I really don't get this issue. Maybe I am just a horny-handed son of toil, but it really isn't an issue for me. Yes, they could have made it slightly rounded, and made it match the rest of the metalwork, but it has never been a problem for me...

I think the problem for me wasnt the fact it was sharp or hard to cock in fact was very easy to cock actually.

My problem is why is the underlever left silver! As a hunter I think that is a no no big silver sab under your gun not good if you shoot up trees, You would think airarms could anodise it black or powdercoat them, I just think its an ugly design on what is otherwise a stunning looking gun.

They have always looken unfinished to me.

I couldn't agree more, the lever is no issue to me at all, I don't even think about it and I'm sure my quarry doesn't either :)

Best looking springer by far. I do not like the underlever. It looks nice from the side, as you cannot see it. It does not feel nice to cock IMHO compared to TX200. The cocking lever looks like one of those alu thingys to hold windows open. I wish they made it more ergonomic and cool looking like Hope mountain biking anodised bits.
