Hw97 underlever

I used to have a 97 in .20 cal, lovely gun. Then like a plonker I sold it! Head bang 65
Still, went out and got another in .177, :)

Which, if any, was better? I nearly bought one in .20 but left it too long and it eventually sold.
As i said i had a 77 in .177and have a 97 in .20. They are similar very similar.
The caliber differences again more or less exactly what you would expect, the .20 is a bit flatter than a .22 for the most part and the .177 is a bit flatter than the .20 but again not a lot if you run the lighter .20 like ftts etc. The .20 is not a huge game changer but its possibly worth your wile if you do not feel a .177 or a .22 exactly fits your needs for whatever reason.
About the biggest draw back with the .20 is a broadly less comprehensive pellet choice, but having said all that one tends to find a pellet or two and stick with them much of the time anyway so its kind of irrelevant.
I like .20 its not a .22 nor is it a .177 and i believe its got its very own place and that place is with those who use it and like how it works and for such individuals that is their prerogative.
.

Am on the look out for a used one now
If it’s a k is that the shorter barrel and is it a working mod on the end if not is end of barrel threaded
The 97K is the short barrel. Not sure I have seen a long barreled 97 unlike the 77 which does.

The moderator does work but it is small, some folk remove the end cap and put sound deadening felt inside to improve it further. Alternatively Weihrauch make a moderator that screws in place of the end cap should you require it.

Definitely says more about my lack of springer shooting skills than the calibers, but I’m a better shot with a 97 in .20 than in .177.

I find the .20 almost as smooth as a .22 to shoot but with a flatter trajectory.

When I’ve shot a .177 97, I’ve struggled due to the perceived snappy shot cycle.

So, is this a fair conclusion……keep the .20 AND buy a .177 97, to improve my shooting (that is my excuse for another gun & I’m sticking to it 😀)

I think you have possibly got some thing with the .20 in 97, t have shot a .177 owned a 77 .177 and this .20 does seem very sweet to shoot . I just put it down to the Individual rifle more than the .20 aspect but now you mention it.
Keep the .20 and get a 97 in .25 and really learn to shoot, I really have to get a 97.25 all this 97 talk planted a .25 seed in my way too fertile mind and my lust just keeps on watering it it will be in flower soon. Enough botanical banter . So DIG out a 97 in .25 you know it makes sense.
