Hw45 what calibre?

I’ve got a .177 Blackstar and with some patience and practice they are excellent. Plenty accurate and powerful but as I said , they take a while to master ( if you ever really do 🤣)View attachment 184251
That blackstar does look very special, do you know if you can buy the grip separately?

look at the HW45 as a platform not a pistol per say
a platform is something you can change and the HW45 can be changed, as in caliber
buy the .177 and buy yourself the .20 and .22 barrels, your only problem you have is getting the screws out to change the barrels
and if you do get the screws out replace them with 12.9 hardness View attachment 184304View attachment 184305
Great thanks for tips

Have a 22. It’s a hefty great jumpy twangy thing that contrives to miss the barn door every shot but trying from time to time is so much fun :)
Yes alot of people say it is hold sensitive but will have fun trying

I attempted to swap barrels on my standard.22 to my .177 blackstar found the the screws were made out of chocolate

Apologies for highjacking this thread seeming as it’s full of hw45 owners however I have question to any one with a well broken in 45 - how many tins of pellets will it take to fully break in, mine is on its second tin, no Dieseling now, smoother to cock, how till it shoot with say approx 4000 shot compare to my 2000 shots? Without a top hat kit. Reason the question I am thinking about a top hat kit and good degrease or letting it bed in a while

Actually very helpful for a potential new owner like myself.

Bump....have a .22 bronze star.
Fitted a 2x20 Weihrauch special pistol scope, only just breaking in but it's a hell of a piece of kit with scope on, in fact best pistol I've ever shot.
Feels like it will outlive me!.

How it left the factory outside.
How it should have left the factory inside.
A proper how it should be HW45.

Thanks for the feedback very helpful, so as suspected most use 22.

What tuning kits do people use or is it ok out the box?
Sorry for an awfully late reply, just joined, I stripped and polished all internal parts, put the TBT kit in with an Aussie piston seal, seems about as shootable as a .177 is going to get :-)

And not even chocolate that's been in the fridge......
The last one I did I was 50% lucky and got one out without too much fuss, but having struggled in the past trying to drill out a steel screw in an alloy frame, I took a different approach and used my Dremel with a thin diamond coated bit to cut a slot in the screw to wind it out with a flat bladed screwdriver.

I’ve never tried changing a barrel although I’ve read a fair few horror stories by those who have.
It’s not that I doubt my ability to do it.
It just seemed like a good enough reason to buy another one.
And another one……

Regarding changing barrels, I found applying some heat to the screws holding the barrel in place (the tip of a soldering iron in the allen key hole) really helped get the screws out but also make sure you've got a good fitting allen key, with sharp edges. I have replaced the screws with 'harder' ones.

Good tip on the soldering iron and good Allen key. Unfortunately I have found with pre-owned examples that somewhere along the line the hexagons have been rounded-off. I have a 75 that is like that on one of the screws, I am wanting to get the barrel out to open up the breech taper a little so that pellets can easily be seated with a finger, I am currently having to use a tool to make sure the pellet skirts do not damage the breech seal when the top is closed.
