Saw this for pretty cheap and couldn't help myself.

Absolutely ugly and rust all over but I see potential especially as first inspection gives me hope some walnut is actually hiding under their which is a bonus. A magazine over the chrono also gives me hope, a quick go at the range tomorrow and then the dismantling begins.

Yeah when I saw it I though 'what have they done' but been wanting to try out a hw100 and like a project. Other than cosmetics it seems spot on so far.

I honestly don't know, can't find any with this type on. I am wondering if they cut the section out that joins the grip to butt don't think so but will know when stripped.

If anyone knows??

I love me a nice project.
Anyway I go 40lb straight through braid on my beach casters. Or 60lb shock leader if I'm doing mono with clipped on rigs.
I go light on my lure rod though but then I never catch anything with that... tbf I am a well renowned blanker...

What do you usually catch on the beach casters?

Its a standard hw100 thumbhole that has been butchered. All the wood stocks on hw100s are walnut.

Looking at it, I'm very sure this is exactly what's been done. It's probably a standard TH stock with some butchery. Probably with a bread knife

Didn't know they only did walnut, I like a thumbhole stock so its a shame, but will do what I can to make it prettier.

Well first phase done barrel and cylinder sprayed, action cleaned and a little carbon fibre shroud. Mod refurbished but not sure if it will be used. Started the stock but that'll take a bit longer.
