A used .177 Cometa 400 USC laminate. Bought off here this week, thanks @Kingwahwah

Mounts were a problem as the scope rail is slightly thin, and the holes for the anti creep screws were small and shallow. These March mounts slipped, since replaced, but a one piece is needed I think.

Shooting, after a fiddle with the trigger, just lovely. But being a new gun day, naturally it's now blowing a gale with sideways rain.

Chrono at 11 fpe, perfect. I think I'll enjoy this one!

That looks lovely, I wanted one too! Eventually I settled for the walnut stock, the only ones available at the time a couple of years ago, HNGD 👍

I have the Laminate Fusion love bones of it, does the lifetime warranty transfer don't think it does, that's ok you can tinker to your hearts content then HNGD

Lovely that (y)

I have a Fenix 400 rifle, I put a WW kit in it, lovely gun to shoulder and shoot.

The trigger has bedded in beautifully.

Had a problem with scope ring creep myself, first time ever. The rings were cheapo Wulf ones. Now using BKLs.

So I cut the cheapo rear scope mount down to use as an arrestor block, It had a grub screw with a very blunt end. It's goes into one of the holes without interfering with the innards, no more creep.

Or this:

I ended up turning a 2.9mm dia x 2mm stub on an M6 grubscrew, it seems to have worked. So far.

I can't understand their thinking behind a short dovetail, those multiple tiny arrestor holes, and that they perforate the action.

Trigger reset, still not happy but it's ok for now, barrel clean and a re-lead.

I swapped the fasteners to stainless and put a FFP 1-6 LPVO on. Need some low forward reach mounts next! But it works for now.

Tried a lot of pellets and it seems happy with the JSB Exact 7.33 gn. I'll try JSB Shorts and a few others on a wind free day at the range.

The ones near the hole are leading in shots, the group was ok though, at 28 yds and gusty.

It's all progress.

Another myth busted re. Cometas being hold sensitive/inaccurate 😎

Mine doesn't like those pellets but it does like JSB Diablo 8.44
