Greetings,
This post is an attempt to get fixes released for 4k and 4k lite scopes .
If your scope is suffering '' Jumping aim point'' after ranging or ''LRF ranging curser being to far away from the reticule'' then I want to here from you !

I joined this forum a few days ago because over the last 3 months I have had 3 x 4k lites all supplied by Pellpax, I sent the 1st one back and they replaced it with another with the latest firmware installed, that one was way more twitchy so it was sent to Elite Optical for repair as they were both misbehaving with the hold over aim point jumping up and staying there sometimes for 2 mins at a time, ( in fairness to Pellpax they gave me back the first scope whilst I was awaiting the repaired ones return) It was then sent to Hik they repaired it and it came back just the same, plus I set one up for a mate and his does exactly the same , just for info Hik and Elite said that they ''had not heard of these problems before'' so that's 4 scopes...all with very similar problems and until a few days ago I was thinking this is just my bad luck.

However after talking to some of you and reading tons of replies it is quite obvious that this a common fault with both 4K and 4K lite so with a ''SHOW OF HANDS '' so to speak, I would like to demonstrate to Hikmicro and Elite Optical just how common the problems are, ( Coz I am pretty PEED off waiting for something to happen ) and INSIST that some fix is made available as soon as possible ( if not sooner ) I could go on but that sums it up fairly well.

So '' if you feel you have been affected by any of these persistent problems'' please add to this post,
NB this is a Forum based PETITION so I would appreciate it if you would refrain from chit chat not concerning the topic and please keep your replies as short as possible but describe your problems as concisely as possible , Many thanks.
LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN..........

Speaking from personal experience my Alpex 4K LRF is near perfect since the last update which added the reticule brightness adjustment and improved image rendering. Yes, the ranged aim point can shift and seems to be down to it being tied in with the angle perception of the scope's electronics as the rifle's incline varies when shooting downward or upward. I'd personally prefer it to not be linked to that angle sensing and remain static as I'm perfectly capable of deciding if I want to hold under slightly when taking shots which are elevated or down hill. This also affects the aim point when splashing a target at bang on the Zeroed range as it rarely places the secondary aim point perfectly which can be annoying. Raising or lowering the barrel will often plant it back centrally for a few moments but it doesn't remain static.

That's my only gripe. The splash box cursor is simply down to scope alignment with the barrel as the laser is fixed in one position and if the shooter wants it right near the centre the only way to achieve that is spending time on shimming or adjusting the scope mounts on each axis to basically zero the splash box before even thinking about zeroing the scope reticules. Mine sits near enough to centre for it not to be worthy of my consideration. My buddy has same rifle/scope combo and his splash box is dead centre. I'm very confident that were he to take his scope out of its rings and then mount mine on the gun it would be very similar subject to some minute variation as it's damn near impossible to perform the scope mounting process twice and have it align perfectly the same. Plus it may vary a little across each scope. It's a complex discussion so apologies for my slightly less than brief reply.

@FX fan I'm sorry to hear you and your mate have had issues and hope you get it resolved. This may not be the comment you want on here, if so ask a Mod to delete it, I won't be offended.
My Alpex 4k Lite experience has been the absolutely great from day 1. I've not experienced any issues with the aim point jumping, and my LRF splash box sits just below and left of the centre of the reticle, despite being taken off, and re mounted/zeroed a few times.

Mate , not surprised to hear that, however there are lots of people with probs so just trying to get a feel for how many, can I ask what firmware version you are running and pos where you got it and whats the serial number (all are optional but if you dont mind ) only as I said 4 duffers from the same shop.... whats the chance of that ? Many thanks for getting in touch, please spread the word.... Cheers

I spoke to Scott Country when I updated mine and realised the aim point was flickering, as one of their guys helps out with the firmware updates and he stated that he'd informed Hikmicro about the problem but they dismissed it, apparently. I also spoke to the Hikmicro UK repairs desk and they were aware of it but still nothing has been done three firmware updates later. I find it puzzling that it moves around even when the scope is stable. I tried to explain that this could be an issue when hunting, as it could be the difference between a hit or a miss or worse. Maybe because the Chinese technicians don't shoot or hunt, they don't fully appreciate the importance. Like when they altered the brightness of the reticles on a previous update. I mean, why would you ?

Dubman, just to be clear, yours is the 4k ?

Yes, that's right. When I first noticed this on the first firmware update I was asked to send a video back to Hikmicro but they said they couldn't get it to play. Make of that what you will.

I have stopped updating any my hik scopes . The updates over the past 18 months have trashed my units , the last updates got them sorted but ill not be doing it again .

This i find is the BIG problem with hikmicro , they just keep fiddling with shit and turning a superb products into paperweights !

I had that as well, can't play it, when contacting Hik so I sent the scope to Elite, reply via Elite Optical; replaced mother board ''just in case any potential issue, new optimised firmware will be released at the end of October'' FYI they have gone very quiet since I told them that the repaired scope doesn't work and have not return my emails, jumping aim points in vids at 32m aim should be just below 1st mil dot........... (shooting a bit to the right ..... barrel needs cleaning I have wasted more than 2000 pellets doing these trials)
Best to put this on full screen. cheers to all watching.
Not sure what the firmware update at the end of October is all about or is going to fix or foul.

just tried to upload vids of zeroing but ''to large for server'' so see above.

Well if there is a firmware update at the end of October, I'll be waiting a while to see how other people get on with it, instead of making myself a guinea pig.

UPDATE; The Hikmicro 4k lite fix for jumping aim point will be available end of October ish, when it is out I will download and install it and let you all know if it works.
I have also informed Elite Optical and therefore Hikmicro of problems with 4K , will keep this post updated when I hear back about a fix date for that.
Stay tuned.....

I'll be honest, I've checked my 4K Alpex out the last few days and it doesn't seem to be flickering anywhere near what it was doing before and bullet dop numbers on the screen only alter slightly when adjusting angle of elevation. Maybe the last update cured it. I'll just keep my eye on it.

That's good news @FX fan

Hopefully it sorts it. 👍👍

Just got this;

Just a quick update on this one for you - HIkmicro are currently testing a beta firmware for the Alpex Lite range, so far, the testing is all looking good.
As long as no errors come up, this should be available in the next week or so.
Regarding the normal Alpex 4K range - they are now aware of the issues that have been reported (thanks to your forum posts you sent over).
They have advised the updated firmware for this will be a little bit longer, but they are currently working on it.
Just to let you know, I am on annual leave next week so won't be able to reply to any emails - but my colleague Carl will be manning the phones if you want to ring for an update.
Kind regards,

I'm not sure if this is relevant or a defect, but I've noticed that the rangefinder box in screen doesn't match where the lrf laser is pointing. You can see this when ranging in IR mode. I've also noticed the reticule jumps and wondered if the possiblility that I'm measuring next to the target might be causing this even though I'm using one click ranging not continuous.?
