Ordered a Condor Atrox from HH. DHL would deliver when I was at work, so changed the delivery date to when I was off, via their email options. They delivered on the original day... signed by someone I don`t know called Rudi at an address which, from their delivery photo, is a car park in a shopping centre 3 miles from my place.
Got onto HH who have been brilliant, arranging areplacement delivery in a day or two.
I emailed DHL explaining they`ve commited an offence by delivering a knife to the wrong address and without matching ID, suggesting £50 would be a pleasant amount of compensation for having to sort out their mess and navigate Dorset Police`s sorry excuse for a crime reporting website. I`ve cited Ferguson v British Gas which is always a good one!
HH rapidly organised another delivery by DPD to `avoid another car park situation` and asked for compensation I guess. Had an email from DPD confirming they have the parcel and will deliver....
on the same day DHL have miraculously decided they`re able to deliver the original parcel. With a different tracking number!
This could be interesting.
(I`ll return one of them to HH if both actually arrive...)

DHL are not he best and I live near their main hub at East Midlands Airport. They have merged with EVRI so we will have to see if they get any better.

With mergers: They tend to gravitate to the lowest standard of the two...a good example: Boeing merger with Mcdonnell Douglas, Boeing safety and reliability went down the pan, reaching the level of Mcdonnell Douglas.

For me, DPD set the standard they should all be trying to achieve. At least the red and black DPD I’ve not had enough experience with the blue (DPD local) to comment. Constant info on where you order is, then early on the day of delivery an email and text giving you an hour slot when the parcel will arrive. 5* only once let me down, had a female driver in one of their at the time, new electric vans, what could go wrong ? I think she left her curling tongs plugged in and flattened the battery 🫣

DHL now have my knife and will deliver on Monday.I wonder where to this time! DPD have already delivered a replacement...top marks to HH.

You reported it as a crime then asked for £50?

From my experiences of couriers in a rural places the blame sits on the drivers shoulders not the company. We have an Evri driver, Dan, who's been working for them for nine years. Wish all drivers were as good as him. Seems to be no consistency with DPD drivers, a few of them couldn't give a sh1t, others are good.

DPD can be as bad was we found at one place I worked at .

DPD 10:30 & DPD 12:00

Ensure your parcels arrive by 10:30am or noon the next working day.

Not with the driver we had as he delivered them around 4pm or some days we found them behind the bin as we had finished for the day at 4.30pm

We tried to get the supplier to use a different company and they refused so we used another supplier who offered a range of couriers.

On a personal delivery , the DPD driver delivered it to the wrong address and refused to say where he delivered it to and refused to come back and he was only a mile from us when we called him.

All he said was he put it in my shed. He could not have as there is a lock on the shed .

I had to go searching for it myself.

All companies can have a poor delivery issue.

Our old Evri/Hermies delivery lady was great. She left due to the boss or our local depot being a clown .
