Hi does anyone have any experience with the above Hatsan 900x and if it’s any good. I was given one by a friend who said it was rubbish, couldn’t hit a barn door with it. That could be down to him rather than the gun. He said it kicks like a mule and the scope keeps moving he thinks. The scope on it appears to be plastic so that has to go first. But should I be expecting a reasonable shot from it or sell it on? Any experience would be great.

The question that needs answering before anyone can really answer you is - what do you intend using it for? A cheap rifle is fine for plinking, in fact often more fun the less accurate they are.

I probably won’t use it for anything if it shoots as my friend states. But before I hunt for a better scope to put on it, I was just asking if it would be worth while or maybe people have found that it needs some work to help with the kick. But if people have had some good experience with one then I may find some time to have give it a try.

There's nothing wrong with the one I have!
Accurate enough for normal reasonable airgun ranges and has plenty of power. Benefits from tuning and a trigger mod.
Seems to be quite Webley like to me. Spring powered break barrels are very much alike, but the piston looks very similar
to a Webley design and fires like a Vulcan/Stingray but it hasn't got the quality.

Sorry for the thread hi-jack but I had a quick look at the Edge today, is this the same action in a synthetic stock or is it a different action?

Bad crown? Most of mine have needed fixed along with beveling the lead for easier pellet loading.
Good barrel cleaning for all the rust inhibitor sludge they put in there to protect it til someone buys it.
Same with internals and a good tear down/cleanup/proper lubes helps a bunch.
Any number of threads here on tweaking the trigger to make it better.
Your 900X looks like what we call the 1000X here. Pic of one I had in quarterbore:

I've buttoned mine same as deleted member and it shot great till my son dry fired it and broke the spring.
I also recrowned it and done extensive work on the trigger. The break is great but my first stage is too long so needs another mod to shorten the first stage.
It's shoots great without any muzzle flip after I added a shroud over the barrel which was heated up and press fitted.
The barrel looks like its come off a Barratt. :ROFLMAO: I'll get round to a new spring one day.
