I have one of these in my range bag, whilst it isnt a comprehensive bit set it is enough to do most jobs whilst out from home! 👍🏻

I’m a massive Wheeler fan now!

Oh and how do you rate the rifle stand? I keep looking at them and thinking they look great VFM.
 
Just bought one of these yesterday: A Wheeler 100 piece set. Imperial and metric hex keys, imperial and metric nut drivers, loads of "common point" [flat] bits, plus posidrive, torx, and a weird Leupold thingy..

From my experience apart from the generic tools there is a selection of gun specific tooling which leads into another area, the toolmaker type. I've managed to make my own specific tooling where required, however they tend to be less than ideal, points of contact which need hardening / tempering left out, material selection is what is available, machine tool accuracy with non professional equipment etc. I can draw on the expertise of a professional precision engineering company who work to standards in microns on exotic metal alloys with CNC machine tools valued at over £100,000 each, but that's going a bit too far!

Most tools are made on the Bench with hammer and forging . Hardening and tempering . You can also distroy some old screwdrivers and such and re-work them

I use a similar Parker Hale set, which fit quite well in HW slotted heads. I have many Grace USA screwdrivers but I haven't been too impressed with the quality. Shafts aren't straight and burs on the tips. Easily sorted, but you shouldn't have to.
I'll try wheeler next time, they seem to be good value.
 
In the photo below is a small number of the screwdrivers I have in my workshop.
The 4 wooden handled are "Gunmaker's screwdrivers, along with a London pattern;. the small plastic handled screwdriver is a Snap-On
And last but not least is a plastic box containing a ratchet handle bit set.
They all do the same job apart from the bit set which I purchased from Wilko's a number of years back before it closed down, this has 36 different bits and is by far the most useful out of all of these screwdrivers,it will do all the work the others do plus al lot more it also costs the least, less than £10, which go to show what I always say you dont have to spend a fortune on tools to do light engineering work on air guns.
If it gives you pleasure to buy expensive brand-name tools, that's fine, it's all down to what you want to spend your money on, and there's no problem with that but you don't need to.

This is not a review as such but first thoughts are it's all housed in a very solid case (not blown plastic) with metal hinge pins and solid feeling clasps. There's also a solid feeling insert to hold the bits.

The screwdriver/bit holder has a decent length shaft and a good magnet to hold the bits.

The bits themselves are 1.5" long and parallel sided which was a surprise because they aren't shown in any of the pictures.

For £26 off the bay I think it's a bit of a bargain.

Noted. The tooling shown by the respondents is the generic type which is important to be a correct fit to a securing head but otherwise more of a personal preference. The securing specific tooling is more of an issue where I have seen videos with improvised generic tools used to do this task, not a pretty sight! New section, Gunsmith Toolmakers.
 
I read this thread on Saturday and ordered the Wheeler Spacesaver set through Amazon that afternoon (18th April) then noticed it had to come from the U.S ! Oh well , sit back and wait I thought.
On Tuesday I heard it was in customs awaiting clearance!
This morning, 23rd April, it arrived. Well pleased with delivery (beats our Royal Mail!) and price through Amazon inc delivery was £21.98 which was cheaper than on the Bay of E.

What if any, is the difference between the eBay Wheeler Spacesaver set at £29.98 and that Amazon Wheeler one. Difficult to tall from the product photos., but are there additional handle components in the eBay one?

The £29.99 set looks different to the Spacesaver set I bought which is shown at £25.99 on Ebay. At first glance it appears to have some extra fittings..

Yeah.....that's what I thought.....there looks like there's more in that £29.99 eBay one. Would appear that there's more than the one Spacesaver set.

Anybody know where I might find some larger versions of these , please?

I love them, but would like 10 and 12mm width blades.

Some Narex larger screwdrivers online but none as "stubby" as these and not entirely clear that they are hollow ground as above.
