Hey guys I added a GSG AK47 to my Cllection and was wondering if anyone has much experience with em? Any ammo recombinations or anyone know where I can source a plastic standard Gsg AK handguard? Any help or advice would be appreciated

We have a couple of them here at the range. I think they'll be good as a private gun but for experiences they didn't stand up to the intensive use we gave them. Parts wore out quick. The internals are cast like the other gsg guns.
When they worked they were really nice to shoot and accurate enough with the iron sights. Unless you're mag-dumping hundreds of rounds it should last a lot longer than ours did.

We went with the RAK22 which is built more like an AK and is all steel, should last us longer.

ETA I'll have a look and see about the handguards. I know one has the railed foreend and folding stock but I think the other has a wooden one. If it is, I'll take it off and send it to you.

Ah okay not filling me with hope there, I was looking at a Rak-22 maybe I should invest in one of those aswell, always happy to Add Ak’s to the collection FEO allowing lol, if
You have got a handguard spare that would be amazing the one on mine was a railed one which has had the scope mount rail snapped off, I’m after the standard handguard no rails, if you have a set going spare you will save the day
 
Don't be too concerned, we put 100s through them each week, and they couldn't keep up. For more general private use I think they'd be fine

The RAK is just built from stronger material and is designed more like an AK inside, the gsg is more like a body kit around a 22 action, similar to other gsg and Walther look-a-likes.

I'm not in the workshop today, but I'll take a look tomorrow for the handguard.

It looks like you have the gas block parts to keep it in place.

Very similar. I think there may be some compatibility with minimal fettling.

The hammer seems to end up in the same place, just the chamber/breech face is different, as you'd expect.
