Garmin xero C1 , well I’ve had a play and .

Meh, there are plenty of apps dedicated to providing fully featured ballistics calculations. I dont need a chrono app to do that stuff.
Just makes life easier and virtually for the same price 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unless it could also be fed temperature, humidity, reticle etc it really wouldn't for me. The minimal info is enough for air,for powder no chrono app does what I need. Excellence in what it DOES do it more important.

I’ve got to say there have been two bits of revolutionary kit that I would say have transformed cf rifle set up since Ive been shooting.
1. The Leupold Zero-Point collimater.
2. The Garmin Xero.

Even if you use factory ammo in a cf (and even rf competitively) the information you gain from a decent chrono is invaluable especially if target shooting.
The reason this unit is so good is two fold. (a) its size and abilty to not be placement critical and (b) it doesnt need to be attached to the firearm its measuring.
I’ve not bought one yet as both clubs I’m currently in have one and are easy to borrow.

BC data is a must with these new digital scopes imo and comes into its own testing pellets , slugs rimfire ammo, and reloading

Nice bit of kit that mate, I'm going to be looking for something like this in due course.

Small and simple to use makes this very appealing!

I have one its worked fine on all my rifles from sub 12fb .22 Ultra, 17HMR and .223 at 3000fps never missed a shot. great piece of kit. Small enough to take with me all the time. Battery life is great as well. I agree they are expensive but I paid £200 for a Caldwell which I hardly used it was too much trouble to set up. The Garmin turn it on set for rifle and ammo weight and your off.

If it was me I would be looking at these £130 cheaper and virtually the same and getting great reviews
Funnily enough Ive been watching some youtube about these two this afternoon and I’m going to pre- order an Athlon. Speed of cycling (reading shot to display time) is about 1/2 for the Athlon against the Garmin - in fact the two working side by side on the same rifle the Garmin looked positively pedestrian!

How fast do you need it to display your fps ?
Mine is displayed by the time I look up .

Also the garmin has twice the warranty.

I get you being defensive, the Garmin unit is a good piece of kit. I cant however see any issue with warranty as its not like they have any impact or interference from the firearm.
I just firmly belive the Garmin is overpriced and I dont like the display, or should I say I prefer the Athlon display. Its brighter and less cluttered.
Also having to go through a whole menu set up each time you turn it on with the Garmin and no easy quick start option is a drag.
The Athlon looks easier to use with as good but less complex App to use.
If Garmin had came out with Gen II that was cheaper I might consider it.

Its a bit like their smart watches (and I do own one of them), they are almost too clever and too many functions that 90%of the time you dont need or use.

I still love the functionality of my Magneto speed (and app) but the flexibility of this new gen of Doppler radars just makes them a one-stop shop.

I have the non EU version of the Labradar ( tracks out 100m as opposed to the EU version that only tracks to 25m )

I also have the garmin because of its size and just its handiness , have to admit I like setting up the labradar and using it .

I did have a magneatospeed but my 7mm rem mag slowly toasted the sensor 😂
