I've changed the moderator fixing on the S 510 from the push on/ grub screw as supplied and installed the half inch UNF adaptor from Rowan Engineering. This also involved swapping the shroud for a carbon fibre substitute. The now redundant Q Tech mod was replaced with a spare Stumpy with no apparent noise difference, also on range testing the pellets hit the same spot with the mod on or off, previously, removal of the Q Tech shifted the POI quite a bit. The shot groups are also slightly tighter with the card in the pic showing 5 shots at 38 yds with B 8's. The grey in the pic is the second from this afternoon, the first one just before it is still stuck 40 feet up a tree, must have been a brain stem hit as it didn't move a fraction, simply slumped on the branch. A whole mag failed to get it to tumble so it'll be easy pickings for the resident semi tame buzzard who lives along that stretch of the canal. I did toy with climbing up but all the low branches have been cut for farm machine access so a non starter this time.

Good group.

On the treed one, I check them with a thermal, if completely dead, and cooling, I leave them so there is not any further lead in the carcass.
Only happens about one a year if I'm unlucky, but dreys I didn't notice have hidden a couple in their last moments.
