Death grips

I bought the carbon death grips years ago when the came out- weren't cheap! Just checked, £210 on Amazon now, a lot less than what I paid! The only thing I didn't like about them was the fixed saddle so if on uneven ground the rifle 'cants'. I modified mine to accommodate a ball mount. They are brilliant now. Rock solid and lightweight.
It's probably worth checking out the 'manbily tripods' online though, heard good things about them and a lot cheaper. They come ready to go with the ball mount too👍

I got the original scaffold pole version, works very well, heavy if you are on the move, I use it for when im hide shooting
Very useful for zeroing a rifle too,. It’s basically a mobile gun vice in that function.

I had the standard box death grip tripod. It’s great for static shooting but they’re a pain to move, unfurl the legs, lock in the height, move the saddle clap knob etc.

For static shooting like in a hide, or for powder burner rifles with hundreds of yard range where you can set up statically and reach out, they’re spot on.

But for air rifles when you’re moving about a lot and stalking in to 50yards and under to get a shot, I found them a nightmare and also, HEAVY AS HELL.

I sold mine.

For air rifle and rimfires I exclusively use trigger sticks. Light and can use one handed.

By comparison to some of the newer offerings from other companies, they're heavy and lack adjustability. There are better .

Haven’t used the carbon fibre death grip model but did upgrade from the standard Rekon carbon fibre CT-1 to the bigger Rekon Carbon fibre CT-3 HD 360 and it’s worlds apart, it makes the CT-1 feel like a toy. Much more stable, a really solid and a firm platform to shoot off. It gives me more flexibility on adjustability too, height wise. Yes it’s heavier but I’d never go back to a standard version now I’ve used these for 12 months.

A lot better out there nowadays, arca rails and tripods with ball head clamps etc

Edit: meant 260 🙄

I’m 6’4” and the Rekon CT-3 HD gives me great height extension.

I’ve got them and find them brilliant for static shooting, from a hide or fixed position, they hold the rifle really solidly, freeing your hands up.
I wouldn’t use them for walking/stalking though.

Same here but I sold mine on. Too much money invested for something I hardly used.
