Cycling

I rescued this early CAAD from the scrap heap. The paint was shocking but I never got round to rubbing it down completely and just wanted to ride it. It has a ding in one of the seat stays but not too bad. It has a mix of Ultegra and DA. The wheels are nice. Essentially early Hed/Specialized rebranded for Massi. It's a hoot to ride.
Nice, I’ve always liked the Cannondale CAADs classic frame geometry, I’ve heard some routers that a Caad 14 is on the way.

Yes me too. One of the last mainstream manufacturers to hold onto a square frame geometry.
I've got a Fairlight on its way, delivery end of March. I'm looking forward to putting some miles on it.

Just picked up this nice steel singlespeed from a friend. Not sure which way to go with the build, retro or neo-retro.

I used to do a lot of cycling during the late 80s through to about 2004. Haven'y cycled since but still got a box full of new Shimano 105 groupset parts plus a couple od Fausto Coppi frames and a couple of sets of Mavic wheels(one for tubular tyres).
I did do the BHF charity London to Brighton cycle ride twice and got my work mates to sponsor me to raise some money for the BHF charity.

Can't beat Mavic tubs. I raced on them as a kid. Magic.

You should build one of your frames back up, get out on it once the weather brightens up (whenever that might be!)

I'm very on/off with cycling at the moment. A couple of days ago I spent the best part of 6 hours on Malvern hills, now I probably won't ride for another month!
Owly thinning down the bike collection too. Think I'm settling in a full suspension trail bike with two wheel sets, and a single speed gravel bike

My Fairlight arrived a couple of weeks ago and I got a proper ride on it on Saturday. Well, I'm not usually one for hype but wow, what a bike. Fairlight and Reynolds have done an amazing job creating a fab, lively frame and rolling on 35mm tyres is an absolute dream on the roads around here.
I'm struggling to find anything to change, which is unlike me with a new bike.

Trying to think mod wise, front and rear burgtec cherry red axles , Cannondale rear mud guard is about it recently. Oh nearly forgot, replaced the head set bearings (preventative ) last week. Also bled the brakes with shimano mineral oil, few little bubbles in the front brake🤷🏻‍♂️. Brake pads wise i went back to the Shimano XT pads, found simply they work better than all the aftermarket flavours.

@ven I tried all sorts of aftermarket pads and ended up back with Shimano OEM finned pads (SLX). Slightly more expensive but last 3x as long as anything else

It’s so easy to get caught up in the after market stuff, but so far genuine seems better performance. No idea on life yet but can imagine they will last longer too . 👍🏻

I mentioned above Penny Farthings... I tend to be drawn to odd bikes etc. I learnt to ride a 36" then brought a custom 50" from Sweden.
(ended up selling that one as my knees are getting worse and these bikes require a lot of climbing up and down).
Saw someone riding a penny farthing over the Forth Road Bridge on a windy day, he sat was well above the guardrail, a very brave /stupid man indeed.

Indoor only at the moment, Wahoo Kickr Bike and Zwift.
Was TTing, Triathlon/Duathlon and Roadie until being hit by a car whilst on my road bike back in July 22, still struggling mentally and physically but the need for a hobby took me to Pistol shooting the other month so now on the steep learning curve and looking to spend some ££ on my own pistol - using the sale of a couple of bikes to fund it :)

#staysafe folks that still enjoy the fresh air and chain oil/wax experience

I've got a Wahoo Kickr, not set it up yet though. Let's see how into it I get. 🤣
