Custom leather sheaths ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Thank you
Hello long time no see
Hows things, hope your well ? ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค
Yes thanks mick weโ€™ve been on holiday had a cruise mate so been quiet, Norwegian fjords absolutely loved it I did a little post with some pictures in the photography section ok cheers johnIMG_3425.jpeg

Just found the thread in 'new' and; having tried my own hand at leatherwork, wow!

Some absolutely beautiful work above. Best of luck in your ventures.

Also made me wonder - I have about half a butt of veg tan that's been rolled up in a dry cupboard for years. I was thinking of digging out that & my cobbled together kit, and making myself a little pouch for spare magazines after seeing something on here. Is there anything extra I need to consider with the veg tan being curled & probably dry?

Cheers mate
Appreciated
Best advice I can give if it been curled up for a few years will definitely be quite dry

Obviously you donโ€™t have too do the whole lot in one go but if you cut a piece off for your next build I would give it a few light coats of 100% neatsfoot oil, but only get a good quality 100% neatsfoot oil, cheaper oils that are not 100% have a compound in them which ainโ€™t good for the leather at all.

But as I say do go too mad a few light coats with a clean clothe let it dry completely and do it again, let it dry
Then once you have dyed your project you can give it another light coat as some dyes dry and remove the natural oils from the leather
Hope this helps you out

Going to look very nice is this once itโ€™s done.

Iโ€™m not a knife user but damn those are beautiful, can tell you put love into them and your very good at what you do!

Iโ€™m having some work done on my house in the next week, old kitchen out, knocked back to brick, bored and skimmed then new kitchen then decorating the rest of house ready for Christmas break
So this is my last for 2025
Few of the pohl force knife collectors been asking about getting a leather sheath for the Mk-11 last blood concept, so I came up with a new design, instead of the kydex sheaths they normally come with looks so much better ๐Ÿ˜‰
