Hi guys and girls

Need some help I am new to this; I have a new CP2 fitted in rifle form I have fitted a Cerato 3-9x32 scope to it and am trying to zero it in. I had a go 14 meters and I could not get it on target so gave that up. I have today fitted a laser pen to the front of the barrel put a target at 10 meters and have adjusted the elevation that seems to be Ok, but have run out of the windage. Can anyone give me a clue to what’s wrong, and how can I fix it. Thanks

Double check that the scope is mounted correctly, mounts are on the rail correctly, etc. Not canted over to one side.
If the scope mounts have a side plate that can be swapped over (one way its 9mm the other way its11mm) make sure they are both the same and the correct size for the rail.
Some info here, see this thread....

Plus see this AGF YT video...

Let us know how you get on...

Marky, don't know, that,s why I,am asking:)

Did the mounts come with the scope?
If they are two piece mounts might be worth removing from the scope and placing them together, if you get me, to see if they are identical/line up with each other.
It's been a few years since I've bought mounts but I've seen some bad ones, ones that are free with scopes aren't always great.
Hope this helps.

As above pics might help too 👍

Another thing to check....If one of the mounts has a scope arrestor pin, (look underneath) either take it out or wind it in, but make sure its not sticking out!

see picts as reqested

I had a CP2 many years ago, really good little guns for what they are.

Couple of points - is that scope second hand? There's a big scratch/mark at the front of the forward mount that suggest damage and maybe someone's over tightened previously (or other damage). Also, with a CP2, the barrel is fitted with simply a couple of grub screws and the front barrel band/fitting isn't guaranteed to keep the barrel alignment true.

I would first check the barrel grub screws are all done up and the barrel itself isn't off line. If all good maybe re-fit the scope and check if everything was fitted ok.

sometimes you have to shoot the setup with the open sights first to see if it will shoot where you point and then if you add a scope and it will not adjust you know it is not the gun the picture are pictures and what i see is nothing that would help
take the scope off and use the sights that come with it
could the barrel be bent maybe but i have not heard of it, you can take it off and roll test it

I have tried to follow ever thing on here re mounting scopes. I got some more mounts , high mounts and placed together and they lined up, and I wind up the arrester pin.

If you run out of adjustment on the windage side, what do you do?

Thanks for reply’s keep em coming

If you run out of adjustment on the windage side, what do you do?
This may sound like dickhead stupid answer but it isn’t , the answer is find out the cause and put it right, which is what we are trying to do

All is new, gun, scope, mounts and me . My main point was if I run out of windage adjustment on a scope what do you do ? Cos I have no idea 😢

Change the mounts from screws on the left to screws on the right.

Last resort is place a shim on the dovetail rail to make the scope get onto zero.

I used a shim made out of aluminium drinks can.

One thing I noticed is you're resting the gun on the rest using the barrel. I would avoid doing this as (as mentioned) a CP2 barrel is only fitted with a couple of grub screws and the barrel band isn't great, so resting the barrel on the rest can potentially move the POI over time. It's probably minimal, but still something is avoid especially when having problems like this 👍

i live in the state and over the last 20 years of reading forum scope issues have been mentioned a hundred time but here is the problem
it like call a mechanic and saying my car is making a noise what is it and like that mechanic on the phone we can only guess
now one of us could be right and fix your problem or as a group just get you to start chasing your tail
now if it was a expensive scope you can look to see that gun is the problem
but the scope is cheap and could be the problem
the scope has 120 of elevation and 120 MOA of windage and at under 40 feet that is more than enough and would think the scope is bad
i have had a Diana kit before 2020 and have been reading about the Snowpeak guns ever since and do not remember any posts about a bent barrel or scope problems
now the gun should be check with the open sights and if they work well the scope is bad i would think
another scope would be handy to check but some of us don't have a stable of scopes but many do
if the gun is bad get another one, if the scope is bad get another one
a forum can only do so much it is up to you or your friend in the know to solve the problem
recenter the scope and tell us how many inches or MM you are off center
and it is not the end of the world a solution will be found

As above how far out are you? and at what distance are you shooting the target?
Are you new to shooting? or do you have some experience?
Have you ever set up a gun/scope before?
You said its all new, so maybe take it back to the shop and ask them to look at it or maybe set it up for you? If its new it will still be under warranty.
As mentioned above its difficult to diagnose faults just from a forum post and couple of pics.
Have you taken the scope off and then refitted it, carefully checking its installed correctly?
Have you tried swapping the mounts round?
Have you checked the barrel (three little grub screws are tight under the scope) and that barrel is central and not out of alignment?
Also check the barrel band as mentioned above.
Try shooting it without the scope (as mentioned above) to see if it hits the target ok, that would then indicate its a scope problem, not a gun problem.
Do you know anyone else who shoots who could maybe have a look at the gun for you?
Do you have any local clubs or ranges where you could maybe ask someone to have a look?

Also forgot to mention, check that the pellets are not clipping the mod, if one is fitted.
You can check by looking closely at the end of the mod (inside the end) to see if it is marked as the pellets leave the mod.
NB: don't look down the end of a gun! Take the mod off the gun first....
Then try shooting the gun without the mod fitted, (it will be louder!) to see how it shoots.
If it shoots ok without the mod installed, then the pellets may be clipping the mod and altering the POI.
Sometimes you can hear the little bits of lead that have been shaved off inside the mod too, which is another indicator...
Let us know how you get on....
