Does anybody have a Cholesterol measuring gadget which gives consistent, credible reasons please?

Those I see advertised on Amazon etc all seem to have lots of Negative reviews, often quite damning - and one which is not consistent is useless.

From what I know of them Byron, a lot only measure total cholesterol, i.e. HDL and LDL. There were supposed to be some coming to market that measured HDL and triglyceride levels which can then be used to calculate LDL which is the 'baddie' that can cause strokes and heart disease.

If you are worried, then I would talk with your GP and get them to measure your levels.

Thanks, my GP Surgery is kind of OK but pretty slow and a bit bureaucratic.

I have used a Blood Pressure machine at home for some years which is great - was just hoping for something comparable but for Cholesterol.

Is it a non invasive measuring device, eg: claims to "monitor" without breaking skin or checking blood?
If so it will be a scam, there's a lot of them around at the moment...
They usually check cholesterol with a blood test, bit like for diabetics checking HbA1c levels.
There's also currently lots of devices that claim to monitor diabetes without being invasive, they too are a scam.
I'm sure at some point in the future they will have a "Star Trek" type medical scanner, but we ain't there yet, so I'd save your money for now.
