Did a house clearout at the weekend and came across this .
It has 1919 engraved on the blade.
Can anyone tell me anything at all about it.

Seriously though, It looks Mediterranean to me, maybe Turkish. The silver wrapping at the base of the blade reminds me a bit of my 19thC Cretan yataghan, and the studs on the grip look like some jambiyas I have seen/owned.
 
May be a the same as this just a different handle design but has same design of guard metal or whatever its called.
