Huge thanks to everyone that dropped by - really love being part of this community, even if I have to leave my summer to come here to a place that doesnt have a sun :)

Business wise - was incredibly good, went better than I thought it could have been. It was really re-assuring to have so many people come up & say "yeah NateChrony, I know it - i'll have one", the brand seems to be getting known & the hard work is paying off.

I did discount the SmartTarget & SteadyShot - but they didnt sell too well at all, a few reasons for this I think, overall I need to do better at the stand to demo the products.
SmartTarget - this was incredibly well received at the shot show, however the UK uses a lot of field targets - which are interesting & lively (vs just a gong). So adding some flashy lights doesnt really improve the shooting experience vs boring ol paper targets. We'll be working with Toms Targets a bit & i'll have some better demonstrations next year. It is also a product that was for sale for the first time at the show - so no one has had them!
We had one up on the Vector-Air range - until a poorly supervised kid shot the lights at the lane next door... *sniff*

SteadyShot - a new product that was for sale for the first time. A lot of people "just needed the chrony" & thought the movement sensing stuff was a bit unnecessary & not really required. Some pistol people immediately recognised the use-case & some field target people could also see it as a valuable training tool - i guess once a few get sold they'll be better understood - and I need to get some info out!

Somewhat of a pity the show discounts were on the 2 new products that didnt sell that well, so the attendees didnt get much of their ticket prices back. More work to be done for next year, and we'll step it up again.

Hi Nate,
Just seen this thread.
I'm sorry your new products didn't sell too well at the BSS.
The Smart Target was a bit unnecessary for my needs, but I did buy the Steady Shot from you at the show.
The basic Chrony function has been a cracking bit of kit and reads within a ft/sec of my Skan. The Chrony is so much easier to use than the Skan too when set up. I have used it a lot and highly recommend it.
I did try the Steady Shot function with a couple of ex-competition shooters at my local range. It was interesting to see how their traces compared to mine (a bit smoother and, interestingly, more of a spiral onto the target) but I was reassured I wasn't that bad a shot after all! I think it would take a while to understand the readings from the Steady Shot and how they can be used to improve accuracy - maybe the subject of another video in due course?
I'm sure it was my lack of familiarity with the device but I didn't work out how to save the data from the Steady Shot graph for future reference.
I really got the Steady Shot because I thought it would help with my pistol shooting. I haven't had a chance to try this yet because I would need a specially made adapter for each of my guns and special ordering from you in Oz will take a bit of time and effort on my part...
It would really help me if your agents or others in the UK built up a stock of adapters for various guns or could rapidly produce them so they are readily available to people like me to acquire quickly. I know you have said you are perfectly happy for others to produce their own adapters for sale and there appear to be several on this forum who have the hardware and software to do this. Have you considered getting in touch with them?
I'm very pleased with my Chrony and highly recommend it to others.
Hope to see you at the BSS next year.
John

John,
Using the SteadyShot - yes there will be more videos coming out & as I get feedback from people we'll continue to refine it & add features & help/guides in the Chrony to assist.
From what i've seen its about consistency - doing the same thing should get you the same result. A guy that did Olympic pistol in the US was using it, he didnt get the lowest score, but DAMN his scores were insanely consistent. The different between his scores was so so tiny.

The SteadyShot isnt about improving accuracy, its about helping you to know what you did & when. Then when you get a good score, you can train to do that over & over. Helping you understand your movements & identify things you do differently.

Try doing different movements & see how they display:
  • hold it sideways
  • when raising the pistol, turn it sideways when raising it & then vertical again
  • try different movement patterns
SteadyShot Data - everything is available on the "SteadyShot data download" page from the menu, its the raw data from everything! We'll be improving that too, some guides to help re-create the graphs etc.

Adapters - big news coming soon on that one, with the latest software & alignment score, it opens up a massive amount of possibilities ;)

Nate,
Thanks for the detailed reply.
I need to spend more time with the Steady Shot to really come to grips with it. Looking forward to the challenge, particularly with my pistol(s) when I can fit it to my Hammerli AP20 (adapter hint!!).

I understand the Steady Shot is measuring movement by way of accelerations and I was using the term "accuracy" loosely but I hope I'm going to be a better shot (more accurate?) by using the data the Steady Shot produces. If only the data could correct for failing muscle power and ailing faculties brought on by advancing age.

I'm now intrigued by the last sentence - I expect it will prove to be a reason to spend some more money...

Being lazy and not looking at the Chrony now, do I have the latest software having bought the SteadyShot at the BSS?

Love your enthusiasm for the product. It is a very good one and a bargain at the price.

John

AP20 Adapter - email me a picture of the muzzle with measurements & lets see what we can do
Spend more money: opposite, releasing stuff for free :)

It will help you to be a more consistent shot, and you'll know how to be most consistent when you're shooting well. The outcome is there!

You're definitely on old software - its always changing, but there's been no big improvements, so no need to update a steadyshot yet
