BSA Ultra se magazine pellet alignment.

Hi There.
I’ve noticed the mags for this gun, whilst working ok seem out of alignment with the pellet slightly off centre.
I’m sure other forum members will have noticed the same, and is there anyway of adjusting it to make it more central, or is that the way they are.
I assume it’s just a spring secured inside to the case and the rotating mag, to allow it to spring back after firing for the next pellet.
I would welcome your comments.

Hi you can't adjust them the spring is for tension,it won't have any affect on accuracy.Pellets with a bigger head size do seem to hold the magazine hole more central
 
That’s just how they are, and my Ultra SE .177 will put just about any pellets (besides Hades) touching or on top of each other at 25 yards with the BSA mags, despite my average skills.

I can’t see what more anyone needs than that and don’t get the obsession with single shot loading that seems to have proliferated on here. For me, the major bonus of a PCP over a springer is the convenience of magazines, if I wanted to rummage about for a pellet in my pocket in between shots I’d take a springer.

My primary use is hunting, though.

The old style mags caused problems with shorter pellets and it could be improved by reverse loading, skirt first, from the front. Worth giving it a try to see if it also improves alignment
 
On that point, I’ve been running my Ultra SE with short JSB RS 7.87 pellets tonight and they were fine, you just have to make sure they contact with the o ring when you load the mag.

I’ve got one mag with the numbers in white and one older one without.
 
Thanks for your replies, I just wondered if this was the norm for these magazines, I’m not too concerned as pellets are soft so I’m sure the probe would align itself.

I had one the same as yours and if I am remembering correctly I adjusted a tab that the pellet rests against I think it’s on the metal plate with the screw through.I only had to bend the tab a very small amount.I don’t know if all variations of the bsa mags are the same design.I stand to be corrected if im wrong.

That .177 looks miles out, more than my original mags anyway.

I'm sure I remember reading that JB adjusted the mags when doing a blue print, but I've had no issues with accuracy so just ignore it.
 
It's something I've never noticed before so snapped a quick pic of my original mag. I also have a newer mag with the white numbers like Varminter mentioned but they seem to be about the same.

That looks bang on. Not normally as good as that in my experience.
 
I have 4 mags for my ultra mmc , 1 original old style and 3 new . In All of them my pellets (Jsb exact ) sit off to the right . I need to take my ultra back into RAT works in the next couple of weeks I will ask one of the lads there if there is anything they can do . It’s a very pellet fussy gun, but it shoots well what it likes .
