BSA Airsporter MK2 project/restoration

Thank you for your offer, but before I put you to the trouble I thought I should have another search and after 30 minutes of grovelling about on the floor and moving stuff around, it magically reappeared.
Will let you know if it happens again when I try fitting it again 🤪
No worries - give me a shout if you need help!

All back together, I don't think I took enough care when it went walkabout! This time I was very careful!! Anyway, simply relubing and adding a couple of leftover washers from the WW kit did not fix the twang, but did add a little more power, now getting high 8s with the right pellet. It definitely likes 5.6s, I tried AA Fields (because I have lots and not much likes them!)) and was barely 6.5.
I am sure the cocking effort is a bit less. I will give it a while and decide whether to fit a kit. I won't need to strip the tap again as I gave the barrel a pull through whilst it was out.
I am very pleased with my efforts, although not sure whether I have made much difference. The learning curve continues will ad a picture of the pair after lunch

As promised, a couple of pictures.
The top one is better cosmetically but twangy, the bottom one is a little rough. I put the kit in the rough one as I was feeling my way.
There is nothing wrong with the spring in the top one, I think it is twangy because the spring guide is not snug.
Who is good for a set of guides if I send them the spring?

@Frog made me the guide set in my airsporter. I would recommend 👍
