I had a Leviathan a few months ago that was returned to the dealer as it was low on power and very inconsistent and the POI would shift constantly, it was replaced with a SMK M22 which has been faultless , nice and consistent and not pellet fussy at all. I missed the feel of the Leviathan it was nice to hold anshoot even though the accuracy was questionable. So I decided to get another one, luckily Just Airguns had them on offer for £230 plus delivery, one was duly ordered and arrived a few days later in .22 flavour. This was put over the chrono and returned a very consistent 9.8fpe and was accurate, yes a little low on power as this is my pest dispatching gun.

So what to do? I know lets void the warranty and remove the anti tampers, strip out the hammer spring and see what can be done with it. Whilst tinkering I also removed the anti tampers that held the plate over the adjustable regulator so that is now accessible. A few tweaks were made and its now shooting at 11.6fpe and the regulator has been turned down slightly. Obviously I cant discuss the mods that have been made but the manufacturer has gone to town with anti tampers which makes it difficult to replace any seals they supply with the gun but with some perseverance it can be done.

The next step was just to make the gun feel a little nicer, now its got the synthetic stock which is more of a hard squeaky groaning hollow plastic feel, I know lets get some Dynamat and cover the inside of the but and stock parts, so this has been done, What a difference yes its slightly heavier but not much , but and its a big but the feel has been changed to that of a less squeaky groan from the stock to one with a solid dull thud when tapped. So there are a few other improvements I've made such as a second barrel band just to stop the barrel from moving should it get clouted when in a barn and the addition of some barrel supports inside the shroud purely due to the fact the barrel is only 10mm in diameter and doesn't have a crown so to maintain accuracy in case of a knock. I previously purchased one of the Donnay barrel/silencer adapters for this gun so that's been fitted now, there are a few other improvements I would like to make but details of them will follow when made later, for the time being here is a couple of photos.levi1.jpglevi2.jpglevi3.jpglevi4.jpglevi5.jpglevi6.jpglevi7.jpglevi8.jpglevi9.jpg

Hi and thanks for the info on this. Just wondering if you would recommend this as an introduction to PCP rifles. I wouldn't be looking to tinker with it so would like your opinion on whether it's good enough out of the box per se.

I would say so I have had an issue with a previous .22 but not heard anything bad about .177 So if its some plinking in the garden or target shooting at a range or a little bit of pest control , definitely go with .177 so long as you don't have numb sausage fingers , I would prefer .177 in all my guns but suffer with the last problem , so its only .22 for me also .177 is a little cheaper.

I am sitting here awaiting 2 of these guns to be delivered this evening, hoping I do not have the same issues that you have had with your first one (I have also ordered 2x Donnyfl adaptors that secure the end of the barrel to the shroud).

Wish I had seen this post and your other one before I did order them last week but I have at least heard they were underpowered at around 10 instead of around 11-1.5 like most rifles sold. Unfortunately I have also bought it from Just Air Guns so hope that it does meet its manufacturer description of adjustable trigger and regulator (Also stock pull????).

I do not want to be adjust my gun unless it is necessary as for now I will be using it on smaller ranges (<30m) but wether I am wanting to adjust or not they should not be selling them none adjustable in the first place.

Are there any telltale signs to see if they have been blocked without having to dismantle the rifle at all?

:eek::unsure::confused:

The trigger is adjustable but the reg is not straight forward to adjust , you have to remove the stock to get to it and its under a blanking plug, this is held in by 2 pins not 1 pin as it looks and if there is air in the gun it is only adjustable upwards so to increase the reg pressure which is anticlockwise. If you wish to reduce the reg pressure degas it first then screw the reg in clockwise gently until it bottoms then anticlockwise 1/3 of a turn and start there with the reg pressure. I also found that it benefited from 3 to 4mm of preload on the hammer spring this again is a pain to get to as there is an anti tamper in place but found this to be finger tight so undone easily.

I certainly haven't any complaints with mine...
My thread is here : https://airgunforums.co.uk/threads/the-cheapest-new-pcp-in-britain.92917/

In fact, I was using it just morning with a youngster doing his DoE award.
Mine puts out around 10.8ish ft/lbs which isn't underpowered when you consider we were shooting some very tight 50m groups (6 shots out of 10 in one ragged hole anyone?).

You can adjust the power - it's just not easy for the inexperienced to do - which is a good thing in my book 👍 a common trait shared with quite a few high end rifles.

Fast reply to an old post for sure LOL

Even though I have no intentions (For now at least) to do anything other than maybe the trigger pull on 'HER' gun to make it lighter if needed I just don't like the idea of the gun not being adjustable as all the research I did before buying it said it was and for future proofing if I ever do get someone to do it or myself if more confident / accurate chrono so I don't take it too high or something.

I am surprised you went with Just Air Guns after your first experience with them and it kind of makes me think they are the ones fitting the anti tamper stuff to the manufacturers adjustability which is one of the things that makes these rifles an even better option.

I just got something cheap and cheerful that had gotten me interested because of its high capability's and the adjustability at that price point was a future bonus, it was about a week of me looking into several different guns and ending up on this one, it met price consistency etc to get a start into the pcp for the both of us, only just got her hooked on the idea and I was originally looking to start big and stay there with something like the HW100T (then they brought out the X). I was impressed that I could get rifles, scopes, bipods, hard cases, pump, DonnyFL adaptors to secure the floating barrel, rest for scope mounting and zeroing assist (Mostly for the level mounting & positioning) cheap (Maybe too cheap) Chronograph all for still way under the HW100 alone, and figured maybe I could use this Leviathan for possible fieldwork or something later on on the far future if I do jump on the HW100x

So Although you said you have to dismantle to get to the adjustments, is it viewable in any way if they have the anti tamer plate on it without doing so, I am not wanting to touch it at all but also do not want them to have removed or blocked one of the features of the gun

I went with Just AirGuns as it was the cheapest place and I wasnt worried about warranty as I had decided to tinker with it from the start if it needed it , no the antitamper is only visible once the stock is removed.

Did you have anny issues removing the end piece off the barrel/shroud to fit your donnyfl adaptor, this is the only piece i am removing on my 2 and unlike the fill port cover i am having trouble removing it by hand, do i have to use grips or something, i don't want to be scraping on the end if the barrel if i can avoid it but the end is very narrow and the texture not enough for me to do by hand, maybe its got locktight on it or something?

Not yet. No, I just wanted to check if there was something different with mine first. I know it's a cheap gun but I don't really fancy scraping the barrel shroud

And God damn it Gary. Why are you so fast 😜

Yeah I think I'll give that a go first. I don't actually have any access to grips or anything at the moment. I'm a toolless kind of guy. Currently working with all the Allen keys and multi ratchet things that I got with everything for this setup. Even the all-in-one tool from the pump (which requires me to borrow a spanner along with its all in one to put the water/oil filter in 🤦) LOL

I'll have to borrow from my friendly neighbour tomorrow if it still needs it

The difference in them is astonishing and I'm pretty sure when I put the DonnyFL one in and connected with the end of the barrel before it went over it, the amount that was sticking out makes it look like those original end baffles don't even touch the barrel inside the shroud. Glad I never fired it with them in lol1000014578.jpg

Now all I've got to do is wait for a fishing line to arrive so I can clean out the bowels and then mount the scopes. Then I can book the range and zero them in and have fun

The baffles don't touch the end of the barrel - they stop about 11mm short.
In practice it's not a big problem as both the barrel and the baffles are located within the shroud with spacers.

The DonnyFL adaptor is an expensive solution to a minor problem and a much cheaper solution can be engineered if you have access to a lathe and a bit of delrin...see post #66 here : https://airgunforums.co.uk/threads/the-cheapest-new-pcp-in-britain.92917/page-4

The bigger issue is the shroud is only thin alloy and that the barrel is located within it...
Which means that when handling the shroud, you can very slightly move the barrel which can bring about a small POI change until things resettle.
The best way to avoid this, is to lock the shroud to the air cylinder beneath... See post #85 on the same thread and here is the link to the 3D print file if you want to print your own : https://www.printables.com/model/365689-air-venturi-avenger-barrel-band-with-picatinny-rai
This will make a much bigger difference.
