Argh! Ruined my SMK XS501

@andrewc2855 Agreeing with @oldsteamer - don't let my complete incompetence scare you off. It' a lovely little rifle and I really should have vented it. I just wasn't thinking and am now walking the internet walk of shame....

I made an aluminum end piece to do away with the lefthanded thingy.
I could perhaps make another but you would need the "nut" part.
@Neil54 What a gentleman! Thank you. Let me see if I can source a complete replacement first. And Ped is having a check of his toolbox for me. On the T Robb web shop, they too were out of stock of the nut part.

Archers airguns in the USA used to sell uprated ones
Doesn't quite look the same, but may provide a fix to get me shooting again. I'll contact them as they don't list international postage. Thank you @P8X

Just to add - if you want to just use one caplet just put a used one in with a full one. I always put the new one in first but I don’t suppose it matters. When you screw on the cap it is the one that goes in last that is pierced and the one that goes in first is pierced at the first shot.
I use silicone Orings on the end cap and smear it with silicone grease.

Jim
I did the other way around, @Jim-in-Darwen, but yes, works a treat!

I lost the end cap off mine the first time I used it. I opened the vent to degas it and closed it when the hissing stopped. Big mistake as there was clearly a bit of gas in there. Like yours it went into orbit never to be seen again. I fitted a bulk fill end cap to be able to fill from a fire extinguisher as per my QB78
If you can get an xs/qb 78 end cap that will work on the 501 but you would need to dry fire to remove the last bit of gas.

Jim
@Jim-in-Darwen a bulk fill end cap? I hadn't heard of that before. I'll look it up. What's the best way of charging it? You mention you have an extinguisher? What's a non-fussy and cheap way of filling it?

i have i just need to re assemble it as i stripped it with a look to making brass ones
