Anyone have an FX Four Stage Hand Pump ?

If yes, does the UNF fitting model have a totally internal output moisture trap, or does it use an external brass thing between the barrel and hose ?

Neither the online manual or sales blurb is clear on the matter.

Bonus question: is the fourth stage worth a premium over the standard Hill pump ?

My 4 stage just has the internal glass balls moisture trap, haven't a clue if it is the UNF fitting model or not though. The brass bit on the end just had a filter (cleaning pellet) inside. It is maybe 10 years old now so things may have changed.

I hardly ever used the 4th stage on my pump but I never pumped much beyond 200 bar and only used it on rifles with smaller bottles (HW100K BSA Scorpion)

If you are young, fit and strong and only pumping to 200 ish bar I would say 3 stage will be fine. If you are getting on a bit then maybe the 4th stage might be handy for the last few pumps up to 200 bar.

Once you are using the 4th stage it takes ages to get anywhere, though I never tried it I suspect it would be a long tedious job to get anywhere near 300 bar. If I were using the pump on a 300 bar rifle, I would just fill to 200, accept the lower shot count and pump it up more often.

I am not entirely sure I understand your question but having used this pump for many years may be able to help.
Firstly, the manual is completely useless & online reviews etc. not much better. The pump itself is brilliant.
There appears to be different versions which add to the confusion. Mine has a large brass part connecting directly to the pump (as per attached picture). This, the importers state, is an external moisture trap ( I emailed them with some initial questions). This, I assume, is as well as internal glass ball moisture trap. There is also a particle trap (uses .177 cleaning pellet) at the end of the hose that attaches to the gun
I agree entirely with @Pie re the actual use of the pump. I only use stage 4 if pumping over 200 bar.

So I actually have a new Fx 4 stage here, only it arrived missing the connection hose so wondering if anything else is missing (apparently not) and if it should just exchange it for Hill (I wont). Supplier has apologised and sending the missing hose.

If I expire filling mah new HW100 (fullsize) for more faster instant gratification without using the 4th stage .... that'll be a "skill issue".

I fill my HW100Kt with ease. My BSA R10 with 280cc bottle takes a bit of work (but then again I am well over 60!)
My FX pump has served me well & it has never had any moisture issues. Use a steady rythm when pumping, not too fast & release the air pressure valve if it starts to get hot. Allow time to cool down before resuming. Really tried for this not to sound rude!!!!
