"Giving up smoking is easy, I have done it hundreds of times"- Mark Twain
I stopped 11 years ago, vaped for a bit then knocked it all together. I loved a good smoke.
I fell off the wagon for about a week after stupidly smoking a few cigars with some whisky whilst giving my Dad a send off via Skype when he passed away overseas...not covid, but the travel restrictions meant I couldn't go in person.
Anyway, the old bullet never smoked, except for a cigar at weddings or funeral.
I had to break out my old vape kit again, but all good again.
The problem is, I still get very rare episodes when I could easily spark up a smoke, it's like an associative event turns on the switch, such as the smell of hot fuel and cooling motorcycle engine after a good ride, and when going on bush trips in Africa. Its bloody hard out there because everybody smokes....
Still, I'm cigarette free and to be fair in normal day to day life, the smell of cigarette smoke is rank and does nothing but revolt me.
