I've been the majority of the other shows, but never this one. TBH been put off by the journey up the M6.....many years doing that and despised it.

Thinking of going this year though. Have a mate who exhibits and people I've spoken to about it say it is worth it. So may toddle along.

Any opinions on it?

I have no opinion on it as I have never been, however I am also thinking about going this year for the first time. I have heard lots of good things about this show in the past. Maybe see you there.

I've been every year and I rate it (obviously :) ).
It is absolutely geared around deer hunting though. Centre fire rifles, ammo, optics, night vision, knives, clothing etc. Butchery and cooking demos.
Nobody selling hot tubs, garden sheds or timeshare holidays.
If I only could do one show a year then this would be the one.

That's my mind made up then, I will be giving the show a go this year. (y)

Yeah my interest is purely from a deer stalking perspective. The other trade shows are just that, pushing general stuff, so will be interesting to see if there's anything specific to look at, handle , or even buy!

Both BDS and BASC there .... and looks like BASC are the major sponsor this year. Seems to grow every year TBH, so worth a look.

Even if it means driving up the M6...... 😱

I attended a few years ago but despite the organisers declaring a good turnout of punters it appeared almost deserted to me .

I’ve been a few times now. I thought it was better than shows and events I’d been to. Shooting is CF centric and you’ve got all the perifipherals that support it…optics, accessories etc.

I hope to be there with my Bowland blades stand , however my current health might get in the way . The organiser has been keeping my stand but the closer it gets the more doubt being fixed heath wise .
Its a very good show for anyone who is into deer and deerstalking , its not a" General" show but its brilliant for those who are into stalking its the very, very best

I’ve been for the last 2 years and i’ll certainly be going again this year, can’t remember how much it was £20 i think with free parking.
Where else can you spend an afternoon walking around looking at all the top manufacturers gear under one roof, then there’s the dog show, talks, butchery, cooking etc.
Definately worth it imho.

Decided to go.

Staying in an Air B and B Friday to be there for the doors opening on the Saturday. That way can get over the trauma of the M6 by going to the pub.

Just need to decide if I'm taking my credit card too now......... 😂

It is looking like I will be there on the Sunday at the moment, but that could change. Of course you need to take your credit card, I don't want you heading back to Oxfordshire disappointed that you missed out on a great purchase. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: My credit card will 100% by staying at home.

It is very much dedicated to stalking, hence the name. So if you’re into that you’ll enjoy yourself and very reasonably priced! The shooting show is more spread out to accommodate all disciplines although much more expensive to go.
I have attended the Shooting show since it started and I thoroughly enjoy it- previous to this I used to attend the midland game fair every year, until one year it was very noticeable- It was turning into a car boot. I think I went for another two years after that and decided enough was enough for me unfortunately due to the high costs that are charged for the pitch many shops stopped going. I fear that this will be the case with the Shooting show as well, for some reason greed takes over. They charged for parking the other year although they did learn their lesson and didn’t charge thereafter.
How true it is I do not know but I have heard it costs tens of thousand for some of the biggest stalls to set up- that’s a huge amount of products that they would have to sell before they start making a profit!
