But my day wasn’t done,
On the way home, I got a response from another CL ad.
Guy had 2x vintage Daisy Model 200 Co2 pistols, for $65 and $35, and 5 Daisy Rifles… a Daisy 922 for $125, a Daisy 840 in its box for $40, a Daisy Red Rider for $40… and “Two old Daisy’s for $10 each”…
It was those 2 pistols annd the 2 old Daisy’s that had my attention.
The pistols were nice, still in their original boxes.
The Daisy 922 was nice but too much $, and the 840 and red rider were newer Chinese junk.
A Quick Look at the pair of old guns and I knew I was on to something. Both were stamped “Plymouth, Michigan”, so I knew they were older than 1958, when Daisy moved to Rogers, Arkansas.
A deal was quickly done… $80 for the pistols and those two old timers for $10 each.
When I got home, I researched what I got.
The two pistols are from 1962 and I believe late 1963 early 1964..
Both in pretty good shape, but the RH, older one, the plastic grips are cracked and faded.
The LH gun is very nice, with the two original cartridges, unopened pellet box, and some papers.

Now those Daisy Rifles were really something…
I own a few, and knew enough to recognize that they were older than anything else I owned… little did I realize..,
Took me a few hours of research to pin down what I bought.
Both are pre serial/Reg/lot number guns, and you have to ID them by features.
This is my best estimate.
Upper gun is a Daisy Model 155. The die cast aluminium pump handle and the patent numbers IDs it as a 1953-54…and it cock and shoots very well!
But it was the lower one that took my breath away..
It’s a Daisy Model H.
Evidence suggests it’s a late 1913 or early 1914…
113 years old!
And it cocks and fires!
I will need to confirm with the Daisy Museum.
Went to bed pleased with my Saturday haul, but mused for a while about that Model M. Pre WW1… the parents who bought it, are long gone, the son they bought to for, is gone, and his children, probably too.

Crazy to think this simple, cheaply made toy, is still here, still putting a smile on a face, and now it’s mine… for a while.
