AirMaks Krait .177

Had one of the earlier pre Huma Krait L's in .177 and it was laser accurate out to 50yds but the bullpup design didn't really suit my style as im more of a traditional sporting gun style person but saying that the Krait was a joy to shoot and even though it was an earlier version it was super reliable and never once gave any issues.

If Airmaks could only design and sell a nice walnut stocked sporting style gun with both a bottle and cylinder option then i would be the first in line in one 😉

Finally had five minutes to put the lam stock on it, plus it feels like it handles better to me …well pleased. Sure you’ll be seeing plenty of hunting posts before long of me slaying 🤣👌

Then I got thinking, how about having a moderator that screws directly into the part that centres the barrel. So off I went and contacted Voldemort, a few photos and questions later it was decided that the best option would be to send the entire baffle set to him for precision purposes.

A short time later this baby arrived, after some decibel checks it’s coming out 5db less than the original baffles with a weirauch xlk moderator fitted and no change in poi so I’m more than happy with the results.

Then I went to the rfd this morning and someone had chopped a 480cc bottle in and I thought well it’d be rude not too 😁

Nice mate, a lot quieter then if it’s 5db quieter than other setup.
Mind me asking what attatchment is on fore end?

Cheers

That’s a bit of a mish mash to be honest.
I use an arca tripod and I’m just to much of a Scrooge to buy a uit to arca adapter so its a uit picatinny with a picatinny to arca adapter just because I had those laying around.

I finally got the bottle on there.

I think with the Krait lite you get the best of both worlds as the picatinny rail for bipods is built in... it's a lot more practical as a hunting tool straight out the box.

Having been thinking of getting a rifle for some time I finally yesterday evening got kind of inspiration... Only Veyron scope I had already, other stuff I ordered last night after quick but intensive research session 😅 Goal was to configure a compact good quality rifle and besides good properties for shooting, leave as much space as possible for tinkering and different configuration options later on. (I was at first thinking of more like budget setup with Reximex Ixia/Throne but very soon turned to Krait)

Opinions on the setup? Huma moderator, was that spot on choice for Krait or not so? it is nominally .25 cal and quite a big jar, but it is modular, so can be used in different configuration if needed. Didnt found any picture of Part of S length ARGA rail installed on Krait? The longer the better? Low scope rings (h=22mm), high enough? Anyway, what is done is done, part of stuff is sent already from Netherlands so cannot change anything for now
  • Airmaks Krait Standard .22 FAC
  • Airmaks Katran/Krait Magazine (.22).
  • Vector Optics Veyron 3-12x44 FFP
  • Element Optics Accu-Lite 30 mm Low Picatinny Mounts
  • Airmaks Krait Bag Rider with Monopod
  • UTG Full Metal QD Bipod (Rubber Armored)
  • ARCA Rail S for Krait (with Picatinny)
  • Moderator Huma-Air MOD50‑4/0 Avalanche (Standard) Model: .25 / 6.35 Thread: 1/2 UNF

So I've been considering purchasing a Krait L Pro for a while, love the look and spent days reading various threads and post on the forum about the Krait. Then up pops a second hand Krait L in the forum. Having contacted the seller local to me I arranged to take a look at the rifle at the local club. Well after taking it for a run around the course suprise, suprise it found it's way home with me. Shoulder nicely even though I'm a lefty, Shot accurately and I was impressed with the Krait. IMG_20260330_231443.webpJust now need to break the news to the wife we have a new family member😁.
Cheers,
Shawn.

Nice work Shawn 😉.

I have the Krait lite Long & I'm a leftie also...are you also ok with the magazine not encroaching your cheek weld 🤔...it doesn't effect me but some on here have mentioned it does.

Enjoy it pal... there cracking rifles & very accurate.

kral66 ,No real issues with the use as I've tended to stick with a single shot loader so no cheek weld issue. Just a pity the adjustable cheek riser isn't reversible.
Cheers,
Shawn

Karl not kral 😂.

The cheek riser is reversible but it ends up sticking out the back of the stock & only one screw can be inserted so not really practical.

Like I've said it's not an issue at all for me.

Krait Standard, now after shooting couple tins of pellets I am very pleased, overall everything and especially accuracy.

Only issue fo far has been with quick bottle change adapter I got later. It has popped few O-rings from between bottle and block piece, two were a bot sheared and one that was softer one, that was just blown away without touching anywhere at that time. So it has cleared up for me that NBR90 is probably the best hardness, the size, 4 x 1.0 or 4 x 1.5, which it should be?
Now installed is 4 x 1.5mm NBR90 ( I think) and it is holding fine, what happens when exchanging the bottle, that is yet to be seen... Anyone using same adapter, does it work ok for you?
Maximum allowed pressure for both is 300bar, better to use lower (250bar?) with adapter or should it work ok with full 300bar fill? Havent dared to try, new set of Viton FKM O-rings is coming my way but still in hands of postal service. But they are 4 x 1.0mm only size I could find nearby.

Is that a genuine one? Mine looked much better machined than that.

Yes it should, it is this one. I must admit that it looks cleaner in webpage pictures... but have no reason to believe it wouldnt be Airmaks product. Also I think it was in correct packaging with stickers you would expect to find
