AGT Vs Kalibrgun Opinions?

Are the AGTs and Kalibrguns in sub-12 very similar in build quality etc? Have looked on youtube for direct comparison but did not find anything worthwhile. Have been trying to find an AGT Uragan and V2 within 2 hours drive from my home in North Wales with no luck but now see that BAR may have them and they have the Cricket 2 which looks very tempting. So, before driving to BAR I'd welcome your opinions on these two manufacturers.

we was informed on the old AGF that the designer of the Kalibrguns also designed the uragans so apart of small differences they are the same build quality. You only have to look at the crickets and oragans to see how similar that are, they of course use the same excellent cz barrels which is why the accuracy is so good. The only real advantage over the original cricket is that the cocking lever is moved forward and the addition of a safety button.

Thanks for the response. I also had heard that AGT and Kalibrgun probably 'collaborated' on some designs and of course the CZ barrel is a big plus.

I have never handled a Kalibrgun so can't comment on them.

But I have an AGT Vulcan 3, and it is simply fabulous. . . So smooth and sooo accurate.
It's a joy to use.

Recently I watched AAR on youtube reviewing the V3 and was impressed. Is yours .177 or .22 and have you shot it out to 40m or more? Thanks for your comments.

Mine is .177 cal.
Yes, it regularly shoots beyond 40 yards. . . In fact, it doesn't usually shoot any closer than that.IMG_20220616_093134.webp
 
Build quality is very close only down side of a cricket is they are awkward to load a magazine, you need to hold the indexing lever and cocking leaver back together then insert the magazine, if you have it on a sling in the field its fine other wise you need to rest it some where. I would go for a vulcan 3 personaly, dont get the 700 mm barrel unless your going to shoot fac. The 600 mm will be fine, having said that i have a v2 in fac 500 mm barrel that will out shoot my impact m3 fac 600mm. My other v2s in .177 and .22 will out shoot any thing on the market so dont get obsessed with barrel length.

I actually like the shorter barrels so your advice helps support that. I'm also seriously considering the V2 as it is a bit shorter and comes with a synthetic stock which is preferable.

The synthetic stock is bullet proof, however mine are laminate stocks which are very nice. The wood stocks are a bit bland for me.

I think it depends on your needs and wants, no more accurate than V2, Uragan or Vixen. If you need 700cc of air on tap then maybe,suited to f.a.c market more, I've got a vixen but if I was offered a straight swap with the v3 I'd say no thank you as this ticks all my boxes ;)

i did see that a lot of the vixens had issues with poi shift when you touched the mloc housing did you get any

Absolutely, unfortunately!, but all sorted!, I am now privileged with pulling the rifle out of the case testing zero and it's been Bob on every time so far.,... I no longer have the placky rail upgraded to ally and a slightly smaller carbon diameter shroud (courtesy of the superb @deleted member ) problem solved. However I only needed to do one of these. The ally guard is quality compared to placky shiz🤣
 
They (like other guns in other markets) share a lot of common elements of design and are in some cases just a straight up copy presumably made under licence for different markets. KalibrGun were the first to market in the UK and the Taipan looks to share the same design in the EU/US, the Pxx series also seems to ‘inspired by’ the Cricket, then you had the Cricket 2, which was a slight advancement of the original design, the AGT’s became the natural evolution and TBH non of them had bad build quality.

I love my early MK1 Cricket, you don’t see that many come up for sale now and they’re cracking little things for the money. Yes, the magazine loading system isn’t great, but a simple modification makes it a lot easier to get along with. The Uragan/Vulcan is also a lovely little gun, and at the right price I would happily have one.
