I have a AA S200, the barrel has a mark approx 30mm lg on it, going all around the diameter, ( spun in the vice ) when adding an external reg to it.
I don,t know the best way to put the Carbon on, put a tube over it or roll wrap it, or is their another way to remove the mark, or would blueing it be a better alternative. which i have not tried to do before, happy to receive all suggestions.

Thanks

Cold Bluing may disguise it but won't hide it totally . You may not get it to look exactly the same plus if it's deep it will just mask it .

Carbon tube would hide it and be removable if you need to unless you glue it on which could be hard to remove later .

Wrapping it could lead to moisture being trapped depending on the type used.

Removing the mark may need to have the part skimmed in a lathe and more taken off or it could leave a dip if you only polish out the mark. May not be bad but it may annoy you as you know its there if you are some one who likes things to be perfect.

Pop a picture up and people may be able to offer more ideas

I put a carbon fibre tube around my MPR barrel to protect it from dings.

Grease the barrel beforehand to help sliding the tube on and maybe prevent corrosion from trapped moisture.

Just buy some carbon tube with an ID the same or as near as the barrel dia, and you can use a non-permeant glue to secure depending on the fit or use O rings to secure with an interference fit.
