Here is a walk through I hope you can follow it ok.
The first thing you need to do is create your event thread
Once you have created it you do as follows.
First of all click at the top right after you have created it.
Then click whichever is appropriate of the following in this case it’s just calendar add.
Then put the date in no1 if it’s more than a one day event put the finishing date in no2 then click calendar add.
Then finally it will take you here where you can select to return to your thread.
